Verse 7

Why discourage you the heart of the children of Israel from going over into the land which Yahweh has given them?

Our wives and our little ones will be a prey: wouldn't it be better for us to return into Egypt? 4 They said one to another, Let us make a captain, and let us return into Egypt.
