Og Herren talte til Moses og sa:

The Lord said to Moses,

På den første dagen i den første måneden skal du sette opp boligteltet, møteteltet.

“On the first day of the first month, you shall set up the Tabernacle, the tent of meeting.

Og du skal sette der vitnesbyrdets ark og dekke arken med forhenget.

Place the ark of the testimony there and shield the ark with the curtain.

Du skal bringe inn bordet og ordne det som skal settes på det, Så skal du bringe inn lysestaken og sette opp lampene.

Bring in the table and arrange its items, bring in the lampstand and set up its lamps.

Og du skal sette gullalteret for røkelse foran vitnesbyrdets ark, og henge opp forhenget for boligens inngang.

Place the golden altar for incense in front of the ark of the testimony, and put the screen for the entrance to the Tabernacle.

Så skal du sette brennofferalteret foran inngangen til boligteltet, møteteltet.

Set the altar of burnt offering before the entrance of the Tabernacle, the tent of meeting.

Så skal du sette vaskekaret mellom møteteltet og alteret og fylle det med vann.

Place the washbasin between the tent of meeting and the altar and put water in it.

Så skal du sette opp forgården rundt omkring og henge opp forhenget foran forgårdens port.

Set up the courtyard around it and put up the screen for the gateway of the courtyard.

Da skal du ta salvingsoljen og salve boligteltet og alt som er i det. Du skal hellige det med alle dets tilbehør, så det blir hellig.

Then take the anointing oil and anoint the Tabernacle and everything in it; consecrate it and all its furnishings, and it will be holy.

Anoint the altar of burnt offering and all its utensils; consecrate the altar, and it will be most holy.

Bring Aaron and his sons to the entrance of the tent of meeting and wash them with water.

Then dress Aaron in the holy garments, anoint him, and consecrate him so that he may serve me as priest.

Bring his sons and dress them in tunics.

Anoint them in the same way you anointed their father so that they may serve me as priests. Their anointing will be an everlasting priesthood for all their generations.

Og Moses gjorde alt slik som Herren hadde befalt ham, slik gjorde han.

Moses did everything just as the Lord commanded him.

Og det skjedde i den andre året, i den første måneden, på den første dagen i måneden, at boligen ble reist.

So it was on the first day of the first month of the second year, the Tabernacle was set up.

Moses reiste boligen, han la ut dens sokler, satte opp plankene, stakk inn stengene, og satte klossene på plass.

Moses set up the Tabernacle. He laid its bases, positioned its boards, inserted its crossbars, and set up its pillars.

Han bredde teltet ut over boligen og satte taket over teltet som Herren hadde befalt Moses.

He spread the tent over the Tabernacle and placed the covering of the tent on top, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

He took the testimony and placed it in the ark, inserted the poles into the ark, and set the atonement cover on top of the ark.

Then he brought the ark into the Tabernacle, hung the veil as a partition, and shielded the ark of the testimony, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

He placed the table in the tent of meeting on the north side of the Tabernacle, outside the veil.

Og han satte brødet opp foran Herren, slik som Herren hadde befalt Moses.

He arranged the bread on it before the Lord, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

Og han satte lysestaken i møteteltet, overfor bordet, på den sørlige siden av boligen.

He placed the lampstand in the tent of meeting opposite the table on the south side of the Tabernacle.

He set up the lamps before the Lord, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

He placed the golden altar in the tent of meeting in front of the veil.

He burned fragrant incense on it, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

He placed the screen for the entrance to the Tabernacle.

He set the altar of burnt offering at the entrance to the Tabernacle, the tent of meeting, and offered a burnt offering and a grain offering on it, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

He placed the basin between the tent of meeting and the altar and put water in it for washing.

Og Moses, Aron og hans sønner vasket hendene og føttene sine der.

Moses, Aaron, and his sons used it to wash their hands and feet.

Hver gang de gikk inn i møteteltet eller kom nær alteret, vasket de seg, slik Herren hadde befalt Moses.

Whenever they entered the tent of meeting or approached the altar, they washed, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

Så reiste han forgården rundt om boligen og alteret, og satte opp forhenget til forgårdens port. Så fullførte Moses arbeidet.

Then he set up the courtyard around the Tabernacle and the altar, and he hung the screen for the gateway of the courtyard. So Moses completed the work.

Og skyen dekket møteteltet, og Herrens herlighet fylte boligen.

Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the Tabernacle.

Moses kunne ikke gå inn i møteteltet, for skyen hvilte over det, og Herrens herlighet fylte boligen.

Moses was unable to enter the tent of meeting because the cloud rested on it, and the glory of the Lord filled the Tabernacle.

Og når skyen løftet seg fra boligen, dro Israels barn ut på sine reiser.

Whenever the cloud was lifted from above the Tabernacle, the Israelites would set out on all their journeys.

Men hvis skyen ikke løftet seg, dro de ikke videre før den dagen den løftet seg.

But if the cloud was not lifted, they would not set out until the day it was lifted.

For Herrens sky var over boligen om dagen, og ild var i den om natten for hele Israels hus i alle deres reiser.

For the cloud of the Lord was over the Tabernacle by day, and fire was in the cloud by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel during all their journeys.
