På den dagen skal en kilde åpnes for Davids hus og Jerusalems innbyggere for renselse fra synd og urenhet.

On that day, a fountain will be opened for the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to cleanse them from sin and impurity.

Og det skal skje på den dagen, sier Herren over hærskarene, at jeg vil utrydde navnet på avgudene fra landet, så de ikke lenger blir husket. Også profetene og urenhetens ånd vil jeg fjerne fra landet.

On that day, declares the LORD of hosts, I will remove the names of the idols from the land, and they will no longer be remembered. Moreover, I will eliminate the false prophets and the spirit of impurity from the land.

Om noen fortsatt profeterer, skal hans far og mor, som har født ham, si til ham: 'Du skal ikke leve, for du har talt løgn i Herrens navn.' Og hans far og mor, som fødte ham, skal stikke ham i hjel når han profeterer.

If anyone still prophesies on that day, his father and mother—those who gave birth to him—will say to him, ‘You must die, because you have spoken lies in the name of the LORD.’ Then his parents, who brought him into the world, will pierce him through when he prophesies.

På den dagen skal profetene skamme seg over sine syner når de profeterer. De vil ikke lenger kle seg i en lodden kappe for å bedra.

On that day, every prophet will be ashamed of their visions when they prophesy. They will no longer wear a cloak of hair to deceive.

Han vil si: 'Jeg er ikke en profet; jeg er en jordbruker, for jeg har vært i jordbrukslære fra ungdommen av.'

Instead, they will say, ‘I am not a prophet; I am a farmer, for I have been working the land since my youth.’

Og om noen spør ham: 'Hva betyr disse sårene på dine armer?' skal han svare: 'Det er sårene jeg fikk i mine elskedes hus.'

And if someone asks, ‘What are these wounds on your body?’ they will answer, ‘They are the wounds I received in the house of my friends.’

Sverd, våkn opp mot min hyrde, mot mannen som står meg nær, sier Herren over hærskarene. Slå hyrden, så flokken blir spredt. Men jeg vil vende min hånd mot de små.

Awake, O sword, against My shepherd and against the man who is My companion, declares the LORD of hosts. Strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered; and I will turn My hand against the little ones.

I hele landet, sier Herren, skal to tredjedeler bli utryddet og dø. Men en tredjedel skal bli tilbake.

In all the land, declares the LORD, two-thirds will be cut off and perish, but one-third will be left in it.

Den tredjedelen vil jeg føre gjennom ilden. Jeg vil rense dem som man renser sølv, og prøvet dem som man prøver gull. De skal påkalle mitt navn, og jeg vil svare dem. Jeg vil si: 'Dette er mitt folk,' og de vil si: 'Herren er min Gud.'

This third I will bring through the fire; I will refine them like silver and test them like gold. They will call on My name, and I will answer them. I will say, ‘They are My people,’ and they will say, ‘The LORD is our God.’
