And I lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and, behold, a man with a measuring line in his hand.

Da spurte jeg: Hvor går du? Og han svarte meg: For å måle Jerusalem, for å se hvor bred og hvor lang den er.

Then said I, Whither goest thou? And he said unto me, To measure Jerusalem, to see what is the breadth thereof, and what is the length thereof.

Se, engelen som talte med meg, gikk frem, og en annen engel gikk ut for å møte ham.

And, behold, the angel that talked with me went forth, and another angel went out to meet him,

Han sa til ham: Løp og si til denne unge mannen: Jerusalem skal være bebodd som landsbyer uten murer, på grunn av mengden av mennesker og dyr der.

and said unto him, Run, speak to this young man, saying, Jerusalem shall be inhabited as villages without walls, by reason of the multitude of men and cattle therein.

For jeg, sier Herren, vil være en mur av ild rundt henne, og jeg vil være herligheten i hennes midte.

For I, saith Jehovah, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and I will be the glory in the midst of her.

Kom, kom, flykt fra landet i nord, sier Herren; for jeg har spredt dere som de fire vindene under himmelen, sier Herren.

Ho, ho, flee from the land of the north, saith Jehovah; for I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the heavens, saith Jehovah.

Kom bort, Sion, du som bor hos Babylons datter.

Ho Zion, escape, thou that dwellest with the daughter of Babylon.

For så sier hærskarenes Herre: Etter herlighet har han sendt meg til de folkene som plyndret dere; for den som rører ved dere, rører ved hans øyens lys.

For thus saith Jehovah of hosts: After glory hath he sent me unto the nations which plundered you; for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.

For se, jeg skal løfte min hånd mot dem, og de skal bli plyndret av dem som tjente dem; og dere skal forstå at hærskarenes Herre har sendt meg.

For, behold, I will shake my hand over them, and they shall be a spoil to those that served them; and ye shall know that Jehovah of hosts hath sent me.

Syng og gled deg, Sions datter, for se, jeg kommer og vil bo i din midte, sier Herren.

Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion; for, lo, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith Jehovah.

Mange folkeslag skal slutte seg til Herren på den dagen og skal være mitt folk; og jeg vil bo i din midte, og du skal vite at hærskarenes Herre har sendt meg til deg.

And many nations shall join themselves to Jehovah in that day, and shall be my people; and I will dwell in the midst of thee, and thou shalt know that Jehovah of hosts has sent me unto thee.

Herren skal ta Juda i arv som sin del i det hellige landet, og han skal enda en gang velge Jerusalem.

And Jehovah shall inherit Judah as his portion in the holy land, and shall yet choose Jerusalem.

Vær stille, alt kjød, for Herren, for han står opp fra sin hellige bolig.

Be silent, all flesh, before Jehovah; for he is waked up out of his holy habitation.
