The waters rose and lifted the ark, and it was raised high above the earth. 18 The waters prevailed and increased greatly upon the earth, and the ark floated on the surface of the waters. 19 The waters prevailed greatly on the earth, covering all the high mountains under the entire sky. 20 The waters rose to a height of fifteen cubits above the mountains, covering them completely. 21 Every living creature that moved on the earth perished—birds, livestock, wild animals, all creatures that swarm over the earth, and all mankind. 22 Everything on dry land that had the breath of life in its nostrils died. 23 Every living thing on the face of the earth was wiped out—human beings, animals, creeping things, and birds of the sky. They were destroyed from the earth, and only Noah and those with him in the ark remained.
