A song of ascents. From the depths I call to You, LORD.
Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O LORD.
Verse 2
Lord, hear my voice! Let Your ears be attentive to my plea for mercy.
Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications.
Verse 3
If You, LORD, keep a record of iniquities, Lord, who could stand?
If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?
Verse 4
But with You there is forgiveness, so that You may be feared.
But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared.
Verse 5
I wait for the LORD; my soul waits, and I put my hope in His word.
I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.
Verse 6
My soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning.
My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning.
Verse 7
Israel, put your hope in the LORD, for with the LORD is steadfast love, and with Him is abundant redemption.
Let Israel hope in the LORD: for with the LORD there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption.
Verse 8
He will redeem Israel from all its iniquities.
And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.
