Verse 1
For the choir director: with flutes. A psalm of David.
Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my meditation.
Verse 2
Listen to my words, LORD; consider my meditation.
Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray.
Verse 3
Pay attention to the sound of my cry, my King and my God, for I pray to You.
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
Verse 4
In the morning, LORD, You hear my voice; in the morning, I present my request to You and wait expectantly.
For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee.
Verse 5
For You are not a God who delights in wickedness; evil cannot dwell with You.
The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity.
Verse 6
The arrogant cannot stand in Your presence; You hate all evildoers.
Thou shalt destroy them that speak leasing: the LORD will abhor the bloody and deceitful man.
Verse 7
You destroy those who speak lies; the LORD detests the violent and deceitful.
But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy: and in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple.
Verse 8
But as for me, through the abundance of Your steadfast love, I will enter Your house. I will bow in awe toward Your holy temple.
Lead me, O LORD, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face.
Verse 9
LORD, lead me in Your righteousness because of my enemies; make Your way straight before me.
For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness; their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue.
Verse 10
For there is no truth in their mouths; their hearts are filled with destruction. Their throats are open graves; they flatter with their tongues.
Destroy thou them, O God; let them fall by their own counsels; cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions; for they have rebelled against thee.
Verse 11
Declare them guilty, O God! Let them fall by their own schemes. Banish them for their many sins, for they have rebelled against You.
But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.
Verse 12
But let all who take refuge in You rejoice; let them sing for joy forever. Spread Your protection over them, and may those who love Your name exult in You.
For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.
Verse 13
For You, LORD, bless the righteous one; You surround him with favor like a shield.
