Those who plunder you will be plundered, and all who loot you I will give as loot. 17 For I will restore you to health and heal your wounds, declares the LORD, because they have called you an outcast, saying, 'This is Zion; no one cares for her.' 18 This is what the LORD says: Behold, I will restore the fortunes of Jacob’s tents and have compassion on his dwellings; the city will be rebuilt on its ruins, and the palace will stand in its proper place. 19 Out of them will come songs of thanksgiving and the sound of rejoicing. I will increase their numbers, and they will not be decreased; I will honor them, and they will not be despised. 20 Their children will be as they were in former times, and their community will be established before Me. I will punish all who oppress them. 21 Their leader will be one of their own, and their ruler will arise from among them. I will bring him near, and he will approach Me—for who would dare to risk his life to approach Me? declares the LORD. 22 You will be My people, and I will be your God.

They will be like a well-watered garden, and they will no longer languish in sorrow. 13 The young women will rejoice and dance, and the young men and the old together. I will turn their mourning into joy; I will comfort them and give them gladness in place of sorrow. 14 I will satisfy the priests with abundance, and my people will be filled with my goodness, declares the LORD.
