    9There are that pluck the fatherless from the breast, And take a pledge of the poor;

    10[ So that] they go about naked without clothing, And being hungry they carry the sheaves.

    11They make oil within the walls of these men; They tread [their] winepresses, and suffer thirst.

  • 4Hear this, O ye that would swallow up the needy, and cause the poor of the land to fail,

  • 2whilst their children remember their altars and their Asherim by the green trees upon the high hills.

  • 8For in the hand of Jehovah there is a cup, and the wine foameth; It is full of mixture, and he poureth out of the same: Surely the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall drain them, and drink them.

  • 2There is nought but swearing and breaking faith, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery; they break out, and blood toucheth blood.

  • 13And their wealth shall become a spoil, and their houses a desolation: yea, they shall build houses, but shall not inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, but shall not drink the wine thereof.
