14For, behold, I will raise up against you a nation, O house of Israel, saith Jehovah, the God of hosts; and they shall afflict you from the entrance of Hamath unto the brook of the Arabah.

8How do ye say, We are wise, and the law of Jehovah is with us? But, behold, the false pen of the scribes hath wrought falsely.
3Thou hast multiplied the nation, thou hast increased their joy: they joy before thee according to the joy in harvest, as men rejoice when they divide the spoil.

17and [lest] thou say in thy heart, My power and the might of my hand hath gotten me this wealth.
11In that day shalt thou not be put to shame for all thy doings, wherein thou hast transgressed against me; for then I will take away out of the midst of thee thy proudly exulting ones, and thou shalt no more be haughty in my holy mountain.

6For thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because thou hast clapped thy hands, and stamped with the feet, and rejoiced with all the despite of thy soul against the land of Israel;
16But now ye glory in your vauntings: all such glorying is evil.
21For now ye are nothing; Ye see a terror, and are afraid.
10And the pride of Israel doth testify to his face: yet they have not returned unto Jehovah their God, nor sought him, for all this.
19Thou sayest, Lo, thou hast smitten Edom; and thy heart lifteth thee up to boast: abide now at home; why shouldest thou meddle to [thy] hurt, that thou shouldest fall, even thou, and Judah with thee?
12They have denied Jehovah, and said, It is not he; neither shall evil come upon us; neither shall we see sword nor famine:
8Behold, ye trust in lying words, that cannot profit.
13Thou makest us a reproach to our neighbors, A scoffing and a derision to them that are round about us.
