13Brethren, I count not myself yet to have laid hold: but one thing [I do], forgetting the things which are behind, and stretching forward to the things which are before,

27but I buffet my body, and bring it into bondage: lest by any means, after that I have preached to others, I myself should be rejected.

24Know ye not that they that run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? Even so run; that ye may attain.

9Wherefore also we make it our aim, whether at home or absent, to be well-pleasing unto him.

12I beseech you, brethren, become as I [am], for I also [am become] as ye [are] . Ye did me no wrong:
17but the other proclaim Christ of faction, not sincerely, thinking to raise up affliction for me in my bonds.
18What then? only that in every way, whether in pretence or in truth, Christ is proclaimed; and therein I rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.

12Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ Jesus, saluteth you, always striving for you in his prayers, that ye may stand perfect and fully assured in all the will of God.
13For ye have heard of my manner of life in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and made havoc of it:
6being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Jesus Christ:
12For which cause I suffer also these things: yet I am not ashamed; for I know him whom I have believed, and I am persuaded that he is able to guard that which I have committed unto him against that day.
13till we all attain unto the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a fullgrown man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
17I have therefore my glorifying in Christ Jesus in things pertaining to God.
5And if also a man contend in the games, he is not crowned, except he have contended lawfully.
15But I have used none of these things: and I write not these things that it may be so done in my case; for [it were] good for me rather to die, than that any man should make my glorifying void.
24But I hold not my life of any account as dear unto myself, so that I may accomplish my course, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.
14But far be it from me to glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world hath been crucified unto me, and I unto the world.
9For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.

11I am become foolish: ye compelled me; for I ought to have been commended of you: for in nothing was I behind the very chiefest apostles, though I am nothing.
19For though I was free from all [men], I brought myself under bondage to all, that I might gain the more.
