Again, in the ninth{H8671} year,{H8141} in the tenth{H6224} month,{H2320} in the tenth{H6218} [day] of the month,{H2320} the word{H1697} of Jehovah{H3068} came unto me, saying,{H559}

Son{H1121} of man,{H120} write{H3789} thee the name{H8034} of the day,{H3117} [even] of this selfsame{H6106} day:{H3117} the king{H4428} of Babylon{H894} drew{H5564} close unto Jerusalem{H3389} this selfsame{H6106} day.{H3117}

And utter{H4911} a parable{H4912} unto the rebellious{H4805} house,{H1004} and say{H559} unto them, Thus saith{H559} the Lord{H136} Jehovah,{H3069} Set on{H8239} the caldron,{H5518} set it on,{H8239} and also pour{H3332} water{H4325} into it:

gather{H622} the pieces{H5409} thereof into it, even every good{H2896} piece,{H5409} the thigh,{H3409} and the shoulder;{H3802} fill{H4390} it with the choice{H4005} bones.{H6106}

Take{H3947} the choice{H4005} of the flock,{H6629} and also a pile [of wood]{H1754} for the bones{H6106} under [the caldron]; make it boil{H7570} well;{H7571} yea, let the bones{H6106} thereof be boiled{H1310} in the midst{H8432} of it.

Wherefore thus saith{H559} the Lord{H136} Jehovah:{H136} Woe{H188} to the bloody{H1818} city,{H5892} to the caldron{H5518} whose rust{H2457} is therein, and whose rust{H2457} is not gone out{H3318} of it! take out{H3318} of it piece{H5409} after piece;{H5409} No lot{H1486} is fallen{H5307} upon it.

For her blood{H1818} is in the midst{H8432} of her; she set{H7760} it upon the bare{H6706} rock;{H5553} she poured{H8210} it not upon the ground,{H776} to cover{H3680} it with dust.{H6083}

That it may cause wrath{H2534} to come up{H5927} to take{H5358} vengeance,{H5359} I have set{H5414} her blood{H1818} upon the bare{H6706} rock,{H5553} that it should not be covered.{H3680}

Therefore thus saith{H559} the Lord{H136} Jehovah:{H136} Woe{H188} to the bloody{H1818} city!{H5892} I also will make the pile{H4071} great.{H1431}

Heap{H7235} on the wood,{H6086} make{H1814} the fire{H784} hot, boil well{H4841} the flesh,{H1320} and make thick{H7543} the broth,{H4841} and let the bones{H6106} be burned.{H2787}

Then set{H5975} it empty{H7386} upon the coals{H1513} thereof, that it may be hot,{H3179} and the brass{H5178} thereof may burn,{H2787} and that the filthiness{H2932} of it may be molten{H5413} in it,{H8432} that the rust{H2457} of it may be consumed.{H8552}

She hath wearied{H3811} [herself] with toil;{H8383} yet her great{H7227} rust{H2457} goeth not forth{H3318} out of her; her rust{H2457} [goeth not forth] by fire.{H784}

In thy filthiness{H2932} is lewdness:{H2154} because I have cleansed{H2891} thee and thou wast not cleansed,{H2891} thou shalt not be cleansed{H2891} from thy filthiness{H2932} any more, till I have caused my wrath{H2534} toward thee to rest.{H5117}

I, Jehovah,{H3068} have spoken{H1696} it: it shall come to pass,{H935} and I will do{H6213} it: I will not go back,{H6544} neither will I spare,{H2347} neither will I repent;{H5162} according to thy ways,{H1870} and according to thy doings,{H5949} shall they judge{H8199} thee, saith{H5002} the Lord{H136} Jehovah.{H3069}

Also the word{H1697} of Jehovah{H3068} came unto me, saying,{H559}

Son{H1121} of man,{H120} behold, I take away{H3947} from thee the desire{H4261} of thine eyes{H5869} with a stroke:{H4046} yet thou shalt neither mourn{H5594} nor weep,{H1058} neither shall thy tears{H1832} run down.{H935}

Sigh,{H602} but not{H1826} aloud, make{H6213} no mourning{H60} for the dead;{H4191} bind{H2280} thy headtire{H6287} upon thee, and put thy shoes{H5275} upon{H7760} thy feet,{H7272} and cover{H5844} not thy lips,{H8222} and eat{H398} not the bread{H3899} of men.{H582}

So I spake{H1696} unto the people{H5971} in the morning;{H1242} and at even{H6153} my wife{H802} died;{H4191} and I did{H6213} in the morning{H1242} as I was commanded.{H6680}

And the people{H5971} said{H559} unto me, Wilt thou not tell{H5046} us what these things are to us, that thou doest{H6213} so?

Then I said{H559} unto them, The word{H1697} of Jehovah{H3068} came unto me, saying,{H559}

Speak{H559} unto the house{H1004} of Israel,{H3478} Thus saith{H559} the Lord{H136} Jehovah:{H3069} Behold, I will profane{H2490} my sanctuary,{H4720} the pride{H1347} of your power,{H5797} the desire{H4261} of your eyes,{H5869} and that which your soul{H5315} pitieth;{H4263} and your sons{H1121} and your daughters{H1323} whom ye have left{H5800} behind shall fall{H5307} by the sword.{H2719}

And ye shall do{H6213} as I have done:{H6213} ye shall not cover{H5844} your lips,{H8222} nor eat{H398} the bread{H3899} of men.{H582}

And your tires{H6287} shall be upon your heads,{H7218} and your shoes{H5275} upon your feet:{H7272} ye shall not mourn{H5594} nor weep;{H1058} but ye shall pine away{H4743} in your iniquities,{H5771} and moan{H5098} one{H376} toward another.{H251}

Thus shall Ezekiel{H3168} be unto you a sign;{H4159} according to all that he hath done{H6213} shall ye do:{H6213} when this cometh,{H935} then shall ye know{H3045} that I am the Lord{H136} Jehovah.{H3069}

And thou, son{H1121} of man,{H120} shall it not be in the day{H3117} when I take{H3947} from them their strength,{H4581} the joy{H4885} of their glory,{H8597} the desire{H4261} of their eyes,{H5869} and that whereupon they set{H4853} their heart,{H5315} their sons{H1121} and their daughters,{H1323}

that in that day{H3117} he that escapeth{H6412} shall come{H935} unto thee, to cause thee to hear{H2045} it with thine ears?{H241}

In that day{H3117} shall thy mouth{H6310} be opened{H6605} to him that is escaped,{H6412} and thou shalt speak,{H1696} and be no more dumb:{H481} so shalt thou be a sign{H4159} unto them; and they shall know{H3045} that I am Jehovah.{H3068}
