Verse 1

For the Chief Musician; on stringed instruments. Maschil of David; when the Ziphites came and said to Saul, Doth not David hide himself with us? Save{H3467} me, O God,{H430} by thy name,{H8034} And judge{H1777} me in thy might.{H1369}

Verse 2

Hear{H8085} my prayer,{H8605} O God;{H430} Give ear{H238} to the words{H561} of my mouth.{H6310}

Verse 3

For strangers{H2114} are risen up{H6965} against me, And violent{H6184} men have sought{H1245} after my soul:{H5315} They have not set{H7760} God{H430} before them. {H5542}

Verse 4

Behold, God{H430} is my helper:{H5826} The Lord{H136} is of them that uphold{H5564} my soul.{H5315}

Verse 5

He will requite{H7725} the evil{H7451} unto mine enemies:{H8324} Destroy{H6789} thou them in thy truth.{H571}

Verse 6

With a freewill-offering{H5071} will I sacrifice{H2076} unto thee: I will give thanks{H3034} unto thy name,{H8034} O Jehovah,{H3068} for it is good.{H2896}

Verse 7

For he hath delivered{H5337} me out of all trouble;{H6869} And mine eye{H5869} hath seen{H7200} [my desire] upon mine enemies.{H341}
