1 Dette er reisene til Israels barn, da de dro ut fra landet Egypt, delt i grupper under ledelse av Moses og Aron.

These are the journeys of the children of Israel, when they went forth out of the land of Egypt by their hosts under the hand of Moses and Aaron.

2 Og Moses skrev ned deres reiseruter etter Guds befaling: dette er deres reiser etter oppbruddene.

And Moses wrote their goings out according to their journeys by the commandment of Jehovah: and these are their journeys according to their goings out.

3 De dro fra Rameses i den første måneden, på den femtende dagen. Dagen etter påsken dro Israels barn ut med løftet hånd for øynene på alle egypterne,

And they journeyed from Rameses in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month; on the morrow after the passover the children of Israel went out with a high hand in the sight of all the Egyptians,

4 mens egypterne begravde alle sine førstefødte, som Herren hadde slått i hjel blant dem. Også over sine guder hadde Herren iverksatt dom.

while the Egyptians were burying all their first-born, whom Jehovah had smitten among them: upon their gods also Jehovah executed judgments.

5 Og Israels barn dro fra Rameses og slo leir i Sukkot.

And the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses, and encamped in Succoth.

6 De dro fra Sukkot og slo leir i Etam, som ligger ved utkanten av ørkenen.

And they journeyed from Succoth, and encamped in Etham, which is in the edge of the wilderness.

7 De dro fra Etam og vendte tilbake til Pihahirot, som ligger foran Baal-Sefon, og de slo leir foran Migdol.

And they journeyed from Etham, and turned back unto Pihahiroth, which is before Baal-zephon: and they encamped before Migdol.

8 De dro fra Hahirot og gikk gjennom havets midte inn i ørkenen, og de gikk tre dagsreiser i Etams ørken og slo leir i Mara.

And they journeyed from before Hahiroth, and passed through the midst of the sea into the wilderness: and they went three days' journey in the wilderness of Etham, and encamped in Marah.

9 De dro fra Mara og kom til Elim. I Elim var det tolv vannkilder og sytti palmetrær. Der slo de leir.

And they journeyed from Marah, and came unto Elim: and in Elim were twelve springs of water, and threescore and ten palm-trees; and they encamped there.

10 De dro fra Elim og slo leir ved Rødehavet.

And they journeyed from Elim, and encamped by the Red Sea.

11 De dro fra Rødehavet og slo leir i Sin-ørkenen.

And they journeyed from the Red Sea, and encamped in the wilderness of Sin.

And they journeyed from the wilderness of Sin, and encamped in Dophkah.

And they journeyed from Dophkah, and encamped in Alush.

14 De dro fra Alus og slo leir i Refidim, hvor det ikke var vann for folket å drikke.

And they journeyed from Alush, and encamped in Rephidim, where was no water for the people to drink.

And they journeyed from Ezion-geber, and encamped in the wilderness of Zin (the same is Kadesh).

37 De dro fra Kadesj og slo leir ved fjellet Hor, ved grensen til Edoms land.

And they journeyed from Kadesh, and encamped in mount Hor, in the edge of the land of Edom.

38 Og Aron, presten, steg opp på fjellet Hor etter Herrens befaling, og døde der i det førtiende året etter at Israels barn dro ut av landet Egypt, i den femte måneden, på den første dagen i måneden.

And Aaron the priest went up into mount Hor at the commandment of Jehovah, and died there, in the fortieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fifth month, on the first day of the month.

39 Og Aron var hundre og tjuetre år gammel da han døde på fjellet Hor.

And Aaron was a hundred and twenty and three years old when he died in mount Hor.

40 Og kanaaneeren, kongen av Arad, som bodde i sør i Kanaans land, hørte om Israels barns ankomst.

And the Canaanite, the king of Arad, who dwelt in the South in the land of Canaan, heard of the coming of the children of Israel.

41 De dro fra fjellet Hor og slo leir i Salmon.

And they journeyed from mount Hor, and encamped in Zalmonah.

42 De dro fra Salmon og slo leir i Punon.

And they journeyed from Zalmonah, and encamped in Punon.

43 De dro fra Punon og slo leir i Obot.

And they journeyed from Punon, and encamped in Oboth.

44 De dro fra Obot og slo leir i Ije-Abarim, ved grensen til Moab.

And they journeyed from Oboth, and encamped in Iye-abarim, in the border of Moab.

45 De dro fra Ijim og slo leir i Dibon-Gad.

And they journeyed from Iyim, and encamped in Dibon-gad.

46 De dro fra Dibon-Gad og slo leir i Almon-Diblataim.

And they journeyed from Dibon-gad, and encamped in Almon-diblathaim.

47 De dro fra Almon-Diblataim og slo leir i Abarims fjell, foran Nebo.

And they journeyed from Almon-diblathaim, and encamped in the mountains of Abarim, before Nebo.

48 De dro fra Abarims fjell og slo leir på Moabs sletter ved Jordan, ved Jeriko.

And they journeyed from the mountains of Abarim, and encamped in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho.

49 Og de slo leir ved Jordan, fra Bet-Jeshimot helt til Abel-Sjittim på Moabs sletter.

And they encamped by the Jordan, from Beth-jeshimoth even unto Abel-shittim in the plains of Moab.

50 Og Herren talte til Moses på Moabs sletter ved Jordan, ved Jeriko, og sa:

And Jehovah spake unto Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho, saying,

51 Snakk til Israels barn og si til dem: Når dere går over Jordan inn i Kanaans land,

Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye pass over the Jordan into the land of Canaan,

52 skal dere fordrive alle landets innbyggere foran dere og ødelegge alle deres steinbilder og støpte bilder, og rive ned alle deres offersteder.

then ye shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, and destroy all their figured `stones', and destroy all their molten images, and demolish all their high places:

53 Dere skal ta landet i eie og bo der, for jeg har gitt dere landet til eie.

and ye shall take possession of the land, and dwell therein; for unto you have I given the land to possess it.

54 Dere skal fordele landet som arv ved lodd mellom deres familier; til de mange skal dere gi en større arv, og til de få en mindre arv. Hvor loddet faller for enhver, der skal hans arv være; etter deres fedres stammer skal dere arve.

And ye shall inherit the land by lot according to your families; to the more ye shall give the more inheritance, and to the fewer thou shalt give the less inheritance: wheresoever the lot falleth to any man, that shall be his; according to the tribes of your fathers shall ye inherit.

55 Men dersom dere ikke driver ut landets innbyggere foran dere, da skal de som dere lar bli igjen, bli som torner i øynene deres og som pigger i siden, og de skal plage dere i landet der dere bor.

But if ye will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you, then shall those that ye let remain of them be as pricks in your eyes, and as thorns in your sides, and they shall vex you in the land wherein ye dwell.

56 Og det skal skje at det jeg hadde tenkt å gjøre med dem, vil jeg gjøre med dere.

And it shall come to pass, that, as I thought to do unto them, so will I do unto you.
