1 Og Moses kalte sammen hele Israels folk og sa til dem: Dette er hva Herren har sagt og disse er hans befalinger.

And Moses sent for all the children of Israel to come together, and said to them, This is what the Lord has said and these are his orders.

2 Seks dager skal arbeid gjøres, men den syvende dagen skal være en hellig dag for dere, en sabbat med hvile for Herren; den som gjør noe arbeid den dagen skal dø.

Six days let work be done, but the seventh day is to be a holy day to you, a Sabbath of rest to the Lord; whoever does any work on that day is to be put to death.

3 Det skal ikke tennes ild i noen av deres hus på sabbatsdagen.

No fire is to be lighted in any of your houses on the Sabbath day.

4 Og Moses sa til hele Israels forsamling: Dette er befalingene Herren har gitt:

And Moses said to all the meeting of the children of Israel, This is the order which the Lord has given:

5 Ta en gave fra blant dere til Herren; hver og en som bærer det i hjertet, la ham gi sin gave til Herren: gull, sølv og bronse;

Take from among you an offering to the Lord; everyone who has the impulse in his heart, let him give his offering to the Lord; gold and silver and brass;

6 Og blått, purpur og rødt og det fineste lin og geitehår,

And blue and purple and red and the best linen and goats' hair,

7 Og saueskinn farget rødt, lær og hardt treverk,

And sheepskins coloured red, and leather, and hard wood,

8 Og olje for lampene, og krydder til den hellige oljen og til de søte røkelsene som skal brennes.

And oil for the lights, and spices for the holy oil and for the sweet perfumes for burning.

9 Og beryller og edelstener som skal innfattes til efoden og prestens brystduk.

And beryls and jewels to be cut for the ephod and for the priest's bag.

10 Og la enhver klok mann blant dere komme og lage det som Herren har befalt;

And let every wise-hearted man among you come and make whatever has been ordered by the Lord;

11 Huset og teltet og dets dekke, krokene og plankene, stengene, søylene og soklene;

The House and its tent and its cover, its hooks and its boards, its rods and its pillars and its bases;

12 Arken med dekselet og stavene og forhenget foran den;

The ark with its cover and its rods and the veil hanging before it;

13 Bordet og stavene og alle dets kar og det hellige brødet;

The table and its rods and all its vessels, and the holy bread;

14 Og lysestaken med dens kar og lampene og oljen for lyset;

And the support for the lights, with its vessels and its lights and the oil for the light;

15 Og alteret for røkelse, med dets staver, og den hellige oljen og den søte røkelsen, og forhenget for døren, ved inngangen til huset;

And the altar for burning spices, with its rods, and the holy oil and the sweet perfume, and the curtain for the door, at the door of the House;

16 Brennofferalteret, med dens nettverk av bronse, stavene og alle dets kar, tvettskålen og dens sokkel;

The altar of burned offerings, with its network of brass, its rods, and all its vessels, the washing-vessel and its base;

17 Omhenget til forgården, med dens søyler og sokler, og forhenget for døren;

The hangings for the open space, its pillars and their bases, and the curtain for the doorway;

18 Naglene til huset, og naglene til forgården og tauene deres;

The nails for the House, and the nails for the open space and their cords;

19 Brodertøyet til tjenesten i det hellige sted, de hellige klærne for Aron presten, og klærne for hans sønner når de gjør prestetjeneste.

The robes of needlework for the work of the holy place, the holy robes for Aaron the priest, and the robes for his sons when acting as priests.

20 Og alle Israels barn gikk bort fra Moses.

And all the children of Israel went away from Moses.

21 Og enhver hvis hjerte ble beveget, enhver som ble ledet av sin ånd, kom med sin gave for Herren, for alt som var nødvendig til møteteltet og dets arbeid og for de hellige klærne.

And everyone whose heart was moved, everyone who was guided by the impulse of his spirit, came with his offering for the Lord, for whatever was needed for the Tent of meeting and its work and for the holy robes.

22 De kom, menn og kvinner, alle som var villige til å gi, og ga brosjer, nese-ringer, finger-ringer og smykker, alt av gull; alle ga en offergave av gull til Herren.

They came, men and women, all who were ready to give, and gave pins and nose-rings and finger-rings and neck-ornaments, all of gold; everyone gave an offering of gold to the Lord.

23 Og enhver som hadde blått, purpur, rødt og det fineste lin og geitehår og saueskinn farget rødt og lær, ga dem.

And everyone who had blue and purple and red and the best linen and goats' hair and sheepskins coloured red and leather, gave them.

24 Alle som hadde sølv og bronse ga en gave av dem til Herren; og alle som hadde hardt tre, som var nødvendig til arbeidet, ga det.

Everyone who had silver and brass gave an offering of them to the Lord; and everyone who had hard wood, such as was needed for the work, gave it.

25 Og alle kvinnene som var dyktige med hendene, laget tøy og ga arbeidet av sine hender, blått, purpur, rødt og det fineste lin.

And all the women who were expert with their hands, made cloth, and gave the work of their hands, blue and purple and red and the best linen.

26 Og de kvinner som hadde kunnskap, gjorde geitehåret til tøy.

And those women who had the knowledge, made the goats' hair into cloth.

27 Og høvdingene ga beryllene og de innfattede edelstener for efoden og prestens brystduk;

And the rulers gave the beryls and the cut jewels for the ephod and the priest's bag;

28 Og krydder og olje for lyset, og den hellige oljen og de søte røkelsene.

And the spice and the oil for the light, and the holy oil and the sweet perfumes.

29 Israels barn, hver mann og kvinne, ga sine gaver fritt fra hjertet til Herren for arbeidet som Herren hadde gitt Moses befaling om å få gjort.

The children of Israel, every man and woman, from the impulse of their hearts, gave their offerings freely to the Lord for the work which the Lord had given Moses orders to have done.

30 Og Moses sa til Israels barn: Se, Herren har valgt ut Besalel, sønn av Uri, sønn av Hur, av Judas stamme;

And Moses said to the children of Israel, See, the Lord has made selection of Bezalel, the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah;

31 Og han har fylt ham med Guds ånd, med all visdom og kunnskap og ferdighet i alle slags håndverk;

And he has made him full of the spirit of God, in all wisdom and knowledge and art of every sort;

32 Som en dyktig designer av skjønne ting, arbeidende i gull, sølv og bronse;

As an expert designer of beautiful things, working in gold and silver and brass;

33 Utdannet i steinsliping og trearbeid og i alle slags håndverksarbeid.

Trained in the cutting of stones and the ornamenting of wood and in every sort of handwork.

34 Og han har gitt ham, og til Oholiab, sønn av Ahisamak, av Dans stamme, evnen til å lære opp andre.

And he has given to him, and to Oholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, the power of training others.

35 Til dem har han gitt kunnskap om alle kunstene til håndverkeren, designeren og den dyktige arbeideren; til den som lager broderier i blått, purpur, rødt og det fineste lin, og til den som lager stoff; i alle design- og håndverkskunster er de dyktige.

To them he has given knowledge of all the arts of the handworker, of the designer, and the expert workman; of the maker of needlework in blue and purple and red and the best linen, and of the maker of cloth; in all the arts of the designer and the trained workman they are expert.
