9 And all the people will have experience of it, even Ephraim and the men of Samaria, who say in the pride of their uplifted hearts,

14 And I will say, Make it high, make it high, get ready the way, take the stones out of the way of my people.

8 And the high places of Aven, the sin of Israel, will come to destruction; thorns and waste plants will come up on their altars; they will say to the mountains, Be a cover over us; and to the hills, Come down on us.
15 Will the axe say high-sounding words against him who is using it, or the blade be full of pride against him who is cutting with it? As if a rod had the power of shaking him who is using it, or as if a stick might take up him who is not wood.
12 And the strong tower of your walls has been broken by him, made low, and crushed even to the dust.

3 See, a pine-tree with beautiful branches and thick growth, giving shade and very tall; and its top was among the clouds.
