Deuteronomy 26

1 When you come into the land that the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance, and you take possession of it and settle in it,

And it shall be, when thou art come in unto the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance, and possessest it, and dwellest therein;

2 you shall take some of the first of all the fruit of the ground, which you harvest from your land that the LORD your God is giving you, and put it in a basket. Then you shall go to the place that the LORD your God will choose as a dwelling for His name,

That thou shalt take of the first of all the fruit of the earth, which thou shalt bring of thy land that the LORD thy God giveth thee, and shalt put it in a basket, and shalt go unto the place which the LORD thy God shall choose to place his name there.

3 and you shall go to the priest who is in office at that time and say to him, 'I declare today to the LORD your God that I have come into the land that the LORD swore to our ancestors to give us.'

And thou shalt go unto the priest that shall be in those days, and say unto him, I profess this day unto the LORD thy God, that I am come unto the country which the LORD sware unto our fathers for to give us.

4 Then the priest shall take the basket from your hand and set it down before the altar of the LORD your God.

And the priest shall take the basket out of thine hand, and set it down before the altar of the LORD thy God.

5 And you shall declare before the LORD your God, 'My father was a wandering Aramean, and he went down to Egypt, where he lived as a foreigner with only a few people. But there he became a great nation, powerful and numerous.'

And thou shalt speak and say before the LORD thy God, A Syrian ready to perish was my father, and he went down into Egypt, and sojourned there with a few, and became there a nation, great, mighty, and populous:

6 But the Egyptians mistreated us, oppressed us, and subjected us to harsh labor.

And the Egyptians evil entreated us, and afflicted us, and laid upon us hard bondage:

7 Then we cried out to the LORD, the God of our ancestors, and the LORD heard our voice. He saw our suffering, our toil, and our oppression.

And when we cried unto the LORD God of our fathers, the LORD heard our voice, and looked on our affliction, and our labour, and our oppression:

8 So the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm, with great terror, and with signs and wonders.

And the LORD brought us forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with great terribleness, and with signs, and with wonders:

9 He brought us to this place and gave us this land, a land flowing with milk and honey.

And he hath brought us into this place, and hath given us this land, even a land that floweth with milk and honey.

10 And now, behold, I bring the firstfruits of the soil that You, LORD, have given me.' You shall set it down before the LORD your God and bow down before Him.

And now, behold, I have brought the firstfruits of the land, which thou, O LORD, hast given me. And thou shalt set it before the LORD thy God, and worship before the LORD thy God:

11 Then you shall rejoice in all the good things the LORD your God has given you and your household—you, the Levite, and the foreigner residing among you.

And thou shalt rejoice in every good thing which the LORD thy God hath given unto thee, and unto thine house, thou, and the Levite, and the stranger that is among you.

12 When you have finished tithing all the produce of your third-year harvest, the year of the tithe, you shall give it to the Levite, the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow so that they may eat within your towns and be satisfied.

When thou hast made an end of tithing all the tithes of thine increase the third year, which is the year of tithing, and hast given it unto the Levite, the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, that they may eat within thy gates, and be filled;

13 Then you shall say before the LORD your God, 'I have removed the sacred portion from my house and also have given it to the Levite, the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow, according to all your commands. I have not violated or forgotten any of your commandments.'

Then thou shalt say before the LORD thy God, I have brought away the hallowed things out of mine house, and also have given them unto the Levite, and unto the stranger, to the fatherless, and to the widow, according to all thy commandments which thou hast commanded me: I have not transgressed thy commandments, neither have I forgotten them:

14 I have not eaten any of it while in mourning, I have not removed any of it while unclean, nor have I offered any of it to the dead. I have obeyed the voice of the LORD my God and have done everything you commanded me.

I have not eaten thereof in my mourning, neither have I taken away ought thereof for any unclean use, nor given ought thereof for the dead: but I have hearkened to the voice of the LORD my God, and have done according to all that thou hast commanded me.

15 Look down from your holy dwelling place in heaven and bless your people Israel and the land you have given us, a land flowing with milk and honey, as you swore to our ancestors.

Look down from thy holy habitation, from heaven, and bless thy people Israel, and the land which thou hast given us, as thou swarest unto our fathers, a land that floweth with milk and honey.

16 Today the LORD your God commands you to follow these statutes and judgments; therefore, you must be careful to keep them with all your heart and with all your soul.

This day the LORD thy God hath commanded thee to do these statutes and judgments: thou shalt therefore keep and do them with all thine heart, and with all thy soul.

17 Today you have declared that the LORD will be your God, that you will walk in His ways, keep His statutes, commandments, and judgments, and obey His voice.

Thou hast avouched the LORD this day to be thy God, and to walk in his ways, and to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and to hearken unto his voice:

18 And the LORD has declared today that you are His treasured people as He promised, and that you are to keep all His commandments.

And the LORD hath avouched thee this day to be his peculiar people, as he hath promised thee, and that thou shouldest keep all his commandments;

19 He will set you high above all the nations He has made, bringing you praise, fame, and honor. And you will be a holy people to the LORD your God, as He has promised.

And to make thee high above all nations which he hath made, in praise, and in name, and in honour; and that thou mayest be an holy people unto the LORD thy God, as he hath spoken.
