Now Jericho was tightly shut up because of the Israelites; no one was allowed to go out or come in.

Now Jericho was straitly shut up because of the children of Israel: none went out, and none came in.

Then the LORD said to Joshua, 'See, I have delivered Jericho, its king, and its mighty warriors into your hands.'

And the LORD said unto Joshua, See, I have given into thine hand Jericho, and the king thereof, and the mighty men of valour.

You and all the fighting men are to march around the city once. Do this for six days.

And ye shall compass the city, all ye men of war, and go round about the city once. Thus shalt thou do six days.

Have seven priests carry seven ram’s horn trumpets in front of the ark. On the seventh day, march around the city seven times, and the priests are to blow the trumpets.

And seven priests shall bear before the ark seven trumpets of rams' horns: and the seventh day ye shall compass the city seven times, and the priests shall blow with the trumpets.

When you hear the sound of a long blast from the ram’s horn, have all the people give a loud shout. Then the wall of the city will collapse, and the people will go up—each straight ahead.

And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long blast with the ram's horn, and when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall ascend up every man straight before him.

So Joshua son of Nun summoned the priests and said to them, 'Take up the Ark of the Covenant, and have seven priests carry seven trumpets before it.'

And Joshua the son of Nun called the priests, and said unto them, Take up the ark of the covenant, and let seven priests bear seven trumpets of rams' horns before the ark of the LORD.

And he commanded the people, 'Advance and march around the city, with the armed men going ahead of the ark of the LORD.'

And he said unto the people, Pass on, and compass the city, and let him that is armed pass on before the ark of the LORD.

After Joshua had spoken to the people, the seven priests carrying the seven trumpets before the LORD went forward, blowing their trumpets, and the Ark of the Covenant of the LORD followed them.

And it came to pass, when Joshua had spoken unto the people, that the seven priests bearing the seven trumpets of rams' horns passed on before the LORD, and blew with the trumpets: and the ark of the covenant of the LORD followed them.

The armed guard marched ahead of the priests who blew the trumpets, and the rear guard followed the ark, all while the trumpets were sounding.

And the armed men went before the priests that blew with the trumpets, and the rereward came after the ark, the priests going on, and blowing with the trumpets.

But Joshua had commanded the people, 'Do not give a war cry, do not raise your voices, and do not say a word until the day I tell you to shout. Then shout!'

And Joshua had commanded the people, saying, Ye shall not shout, nor make any noise with your voice, neither shall any word proceed out of your mouth, until the day I bid you shout; then shall ye shout.

So he had the Ark of the LORD carried around the city, circling it once. Then the people returned to camp and spent the night there.

So the ark of the LORD compassed the city, going about it once: and they came into the camp, and lodged in the camp.

Joshua rose early in the morning, and the priests carried the Ark of the LORD.

And Joshua rose early in the morning, and the priests took up the ark of the LORD.

The seven priests carrying the seven ram's horn trumpets marched ahead of the Ark of the LORD, blowing the trumpets as they went. The armed guard went before them, and the rear guard followed behind the Ark of the LORD, all while the trumpets sounded continuously.

And seven priests bearing seven trumpets of rams' horns before the ark of the LORD went on continually, and blew with the trumpets: and the armed men went before them; but the rereward came after the ark of the LORD, the priests going on, and blowing with the trumpets.

On the second day, they marched around the city once and returned to the camp. They did the same for six days.

And the second day they compassed the city once, and returned into the camp: so they did six days.

On the seventh day, they rose early, at dawn, and marched around the city seven times in the same manner. On that day alone, they circled the city seven times.

And it came to pass on the seventh day, that they rose early about the dawning of the day, and compassed the city after the same manner seven times: only on that day they compassed the city seven times.

On the seventh time around, when the priests sounded the trumpet blast, Joshua said to the people, 'Shout! For the LORD has given you the city!'

And it came to pass at the seventh time, when the priests blew with the trumpets, Joshua said unto the people, Shout; for the LORD hath given you the city.

The city and all within it shall be devoted to the LORD for destruction. Only Rahab the prostitute and those with her in her house shall live, because she hid the messengers we sent.

And the city shall be accursed, even it, and all that are therein, to the LORD: only Rahab the harlot shall live, she and all that are with her in the house, because she hid the messengers that we sent.

But you must keep yourselves from taking any of the things devoted to destruction; otherwise, you will bring destruction upon the camp of Israel and trouble it.

And ye, in any wise keep yourselves from the accursed thing, lest ye make yourselves accursed, when ye take of the accursed thing, and make the camp of Israel a curse, and trouble it.

All the silver, gold, bronze, and iron are holy to the LORD and must go into His treasury.

But all the silver, and gold, and vessels of brass and iron, are consecrated unto the LORD: they shall come into the treasury of the LORD.

When the trumpets sounded, the people shouted. At the sound of the trumpet, when the people gave a great shout, the wall collapsed. Each person charged straight in, and they captured the city.

So the people shouted when the priests blew with the trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.

They devoted to destruction everything in the city—men and women, young and old, as well as oxen, sheep, and donkeys—by the edge of the sword.

And they utterly destroyed all that was in the city, both man and woman, young and old, and ox, and sheep, and ass, with the edge of the sword.

But to the two men who had spied out the land, Joshua said, 'Go to the house of the prostitute and bring her out, along with everyone who belongs to her, just as you swore to her.'

But Joshua had said unto the two men that had spied out the country, Go into the harlot's house, and bring out thence the woman, and all that she hath, as ye sware unto her.

So the young men who had scouted the land went in and brought out Rahab, along with her father, mother, brothers, and all who belonged to her. They brought out her entire family and placed them outside the camp of Israel.

And the young men that were spies went in, and brought out Rahab, and her father, and her mother, and her brethren, and all that she had; and they brought out all her kindred, and left them without the camp of Israel.

Then they burned the city and everything in it with fire. However, they put the silver, gold, bronze, and iron items into the treasury of the LORD's house.

And they burnt the city with fire, and all that was therein: only the silver, and the gold, and the vessels of brass and of iron, they put into the treasury of the house of the LORD.

Joshua spared Rahab the prostitute, along with her family and everyone belonging to her, and she has lived among the Israelites to this day because she hid the messengers Joshua sent to spy out Jericho.

And Joshua saved Rahab the harlot alive, and her father's household, and all that she had; and she dwelleth in Israel even unto this day; because she hid the messengers, which Joshua sent to spy out Jericho.

At that time, Joshua pronounced this oath: 'Cursed before the LORD is the man who rises up to rebuild this city, Jericho; at the cost of his firstborn, he will lay its foundation; and at the cost of his youngest, he will set up its gates.'

And Joshua adjured them at that time, saying, Cursed be the man before the LORD, that riseth up and buildeth this city Jericho: he shall lay the foundation thereof in his firstborn, and in his youngest son shall he set up the gates of it.

So the LORD was with Joshua, and his fame spread throughout the land.

So the LORD was with Joshua; and his fame was noised throughout all the country.
