Verse 1

The LORD spoke to Moses, saying:

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

Verse 2

This shall be the law for the person with a skin disease on the day of their cleansing: They shall be brought to the priest.

This shall be the law of the leper in the day of his cleansing: He shall be brought unto the priest:

Verse 3

The priest shall go outside the camp and examine them. If the skin disease has been healed in the afflicted person,

And the priest shall go forth out of the camp; and the priest shall look, and, behold, if the plague of leprosy be healed in the leper;

Verse 4

the priest shall command that two living clean birds, cedar wood, scarlet yarn, and hyssop be brought for the one to be cleansed.

Then shall the priest command to take for him that is to be cleansed two birds alive and clean, and cedar wood, and scarlet, and hyssop:

Verse 5

The priest shall command that one of the birds be slaughtered over a clay pot filled with fresh water.

And the priest shall command that one of the birds be killed in an earthen vessel over running water:

Verse 6

The living bird, along with the cedar wood, the scarlet yarn, and the hyssop, shall be dipped in the blood of the bird that was slaughtered over fresh water.

As for the living bird, he shall take it, and the cedar wood, and the scarlet, and the hyssop, and shall dip them and the living bird in the blood of the bird that was killed over the running water:

Verse 7

The priest shall sprinkle the blood on the one to be cleansed from the skin disease seven times. Then he shall pronounce them clean and release the living bird into the open field.

And he shall sprinkle upon him that is to be cleansed from the leprosy seven times, and shall pronounce him clean, and shall let the living bird loose into the open field.

Verse 8

The one who is to be cleansed must wash their clothes, shave off all their hair, and bathe in water; then they will be clean. After that, they may enter the camp but must stay outside their tent for seven days.

And he that is to be cleansed shall wash his clothes, and shave off all his hair, and wash himself in water, that he may be clean: and after that he shall come into the camp, and shall tarry abroad out of his tent seven days.

Verse 9

On the seventh day, they must shave off all their hair—their head, their beard, their eyebrows, and all their hair. They must wash their clothes and bathe their body in water, and then they will be clean.

But it shall be on the seventh day, that he shall shave all his hair off his head and his beard and his eyebrows, even all his hair he shall shave off: and he shall wash his clothes, also he shall wash his flesh in water, and he shall be clean.

Verse 10

On the eighth day, they must bring two unblemished male lambs, one unblemished year-old ewe lamb, three-tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with oil as a grain offering, and one log of oil.

And on the eighth day he shall take two he lambs without blemish, and one ewe lamb of the first year without blemish, and three tenth deals of fine flour for a meat offering, mingled with oil, and one log of oil.

Verse 11

The priest who performs the cleansing shall present the person to be cleansed, along with these offerings, before the LORD at the entrance to the tent of meeting.

And the priest that maketh him clean shall present the man that is to be made clean, and those things, before the LORD, at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation:

Verse 12

The priest shall take one of the male lambs and offer it as a guilt offering, along with the log of oil, and wave them as a wave offering before the LORD.

And the priest shall take one he lamb, and offer him for a trespass offering, and the log of oil, and wave them for a wave offering before the LORD:

Verse 13

Then he shall slaughter the lamb in the holy place where the sin offering and the burnt offering are slaughtered, for the guilt offering belongs to the priest; it is most holy, like the sin offering.

And he shall slay the lamb in the place where he shall kill the sin offering and the burnt offering, in the holy place: for as the sin offering is the priest's, so is the trespass offering: it is most holy:

Verse 14

The priest shall take some of the blood of the guilt offering and apply it to the tip of the right ear, the thumb of the right hand, and the big toe of the right foot of the one being cleansed.

And the priest shall take some of the blood of the trespass offering, and the priest shall put it upon the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot:

Verse 15

Then the priest shall take some of the log of oil and pour it into the palm of his own left hand.

And the priest shall take some of the log of oil, and pour it into the palm of his own left hand:

Verse 16

He shall dip his right finger into the oil in his left hand and sprinkle some of it seven times before the LORD.

And the priest shall dip his right finger in the oil that is in his left hand, and shall sprinkle of the oil with his finger seven times before the LORD:

Verse 17

Some of the remaining oil in his hand the priest shall apply to the tip of the right ear, the thumb of the right hand, and the big toe of the right foot of the one being cleansed, on top of the blood of the guilt offering.

And of the rest of the oil that is in his hand shall the priest put upon the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot, upon the blood of the trespass offering:

Verse 18

The rest of the oil in the priest’s hand he shall place on the head of the one being cleansed. This is how the priest will make atonement for them before the LORD.

And the remnant of the oil that is in the priest's hand he shall pour upon the head of him that is to be cleansed: and the priest shall make an atonement for him before the LORD.

Verse 19

Then the priest shall offer the sin offering to make atonement for the one being cleansed from their impurity. Afterward, he shall slaughter the burnt offering.

And the priest shall offer the sin offering, and make an atonement for him that is to be cleansed from his uncleanness; and afterward he shall kill the burnt offering:

Verse 20

The priest shall offer up the burnt offering and the grain offering on the altar. In this way, the priest will make atonement for them, and they will be clean.

And the priest shall offer the burnt offering and the meat offering upon the altar: and the priest shall make an atonement for him, and he shall be clean.

Verse 21

If the person is poor and cannot afford these offerings, they shall take one male lamb as a guilt offering to be waved, to make atonement for them, along with a tenth of an ephah of fine flour mixed with oil as a grain offering, and a log of oil.

And if he be poor, and cannot get so much; then he shall take one lamb for a trespass offering to be waved, to make an atonement for him, and one tenth deal of fine flour mingled with oil for a meat offering, and a log of oil;

Verse 22

They shall also take two turtledoves or two young pigeons, whichever they can afford—one for a sin offering and the other for a burnt offering.

And two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, such as he is able to get; and the one shall be a sin offering, and the other a burnt offering.

Verse 23

On the eighth day, they shall bring them to the priest at the entrance to the tent of meeting before the LORD, for their cleansing.

And he shall bring them on the eighth day for his cleansing unto the priest, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, before the LORD.

Verse 24

The priest shall take the lamb for the guilt offering and the log of oil, and wave them as a wave offering before the LORD.

And the priest shall take the lamb of the trespass offering, and the log of oil, and the priest shall wave them for a wave offering before the LORD:

Verse 25

Then he shall slaughter the lamb for the guilt offering, and the priest shall take some of its blood and put it on the lobe of the right ear, the thumb of the right hand, and the big toe of the right foot of the one being cleansed.

And he shall kill the lamb of the trespass offering, and the priest shall take some of the blood of the trespass offering, and put it upon the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot:

Verse 26

The priest shall pour some of the oil into the palm of his own left hand.

And the priest shall pour of the oil into the palm of his own left hand:

Verse 27

He shall dip his right finger into the oil in his left hand and sprinkle some of it seven times before the LORD.

And the priest shall sprinkle with his right finger some of the oil that is in his left hand seven times before the LORD:

Verse 28

The priest shall put some of the oil that is in his hand on the lobe of the right ear, the thumb of the right hand, and the big toe of the right foot of the one being cleansed, on top of the blood of the guilt offering.

And the priest shall put of the oil that is in his hand upon the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot, upon the place of the blood of the trespass offering:

Verse 29

The rest of the oil in his hand the priest shall place on the head of the one being cleansed, to make atonement for them before the LORD.

And the rest of the oil that is in the priest's hand he shall put upon the head of him that is to be cleansed, to make an atonement for him before the LORD.

Verse 30

Then he shall prepare one of the turtledoves or young pigeons, whichever he can afford.

And he shall offer the one of the turtledoves, or of the young pigeons, such as he can get;

Verse 31

He shall offer one as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering, along with the grain offering. In this way, the priest will make atonement for the one being cleansed before the LORD.

Even such as he is able to get, the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering, with the meat offering: and the priest shall make an atonement for him that is to be cleansed before the LORD.

Verse 32

This is the law for anyone who has a skin disease and cannot afford the standard offering for their cleansing.

This is the law of him in whom is the plague of leprosy, whose hand is not able to get that which pertaineth to his cleansing.

Verse 33

The LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying:

And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,

Verse 34

When you enter the land of Canaan, which I am giving you as a possession, and I put a mildew or mold-like condition in a house in your land,

When ye be come into the land of Canaan, which I give to you for a possession, and I put the plague of leprosy in a house of the land of your possession;

Verse 35

the owner of the house must come and tell the priest, saying, ‘Something like a mildew appears to be in my house.’

And he that owneth the house shall come and tell the priest, saying, It seemeth to me there is as it were a plague in the house:

Verse 36

The priest shall order the house to be emptied before he goes in to examine the mildew, so that nothing in the house becomes unclean. Afterward, the priest shall go in to inspect the house.

Then the priest shall command that they empty the house, before the priest go into it to see the plague, that all that is in the house be not made unclean: and afterward the priest shall go in to see the house:

Verse 37

He shall examine the mildew, and if the mildew in the walls of the house consists of greenish or reddish depressions that appear deeper than the surface,

And he shall look on the plague, and, behold, if the plague be in the walls of the house with hollow strakes, greenish or reddish, which in sight are lower than the wall;

Verse 38

the priest shall come out of the house to its doorway and quarantine the house for seven days.

Then the priest shall go out of the house to the door of the house, and shut up the house seven days:

Verse 39

On the seventh day, the priest shall return to inspect the house. If the mildew has spread on the walls,

And the priest shall come again the seventh day, and shall look: and, behold, if the plague be spread in the walls of the house;

Verse 40

The priest shall command that the stones with the mildew in them be removed and thrown outside the city to an unclean place.

Then the priest shall command that they take away the stones in which the plague is, and they shall cast them into an unclean place without the city:

Verse 41

He shall have the house scraped of all its plaster, and the scraped material is to be dumped outside the city in an unclean place.

And he shall cause the house to be scraped within round about, and they shall pour out the dust that they scrape off without the city into an unclean place:

Verse 42

Then they shall take other stones to replace those removed and reapply the plaster over the house.

And they shall take other stones, and put them in the place of those stones; and he shall take other morter, and shall plaister the house.

Verse 43

If the mildew reappears in the house after the stones have been removed, and after the house has been scraped and replastered,

And if the plague come again, and break out in the house, after that he hath taken away the stones, and after he hath scraped the house, and after it is plaistered;

Verse 44

the priest shall come and inspect it. If the mildew has spread, it is a destructive mildew; the house is unclean.

Then the priest shall come and look, and, behold, if the plague be spread in the house, it is a fretting leprosy in the house: it is unclean.

Verse 45

The house must be demolished, with all its stones, timbers, and plaster taken outside the city to an unclean place.

And he shall break down the house, the stones of it, and the timber thereof, and all the morter of the house; and he shall carry them forth out of the city into an unclean place.

Verse 46

Anyone who enters the house during the period it is quarantined will be unclean until evening.

Moreover he that goeth into the house all the while that it is shut up shall be unclean until the even.

Verse 47

Anyone who lies down in the house must wash their clothes, and anyone who eats in the house must wash their clothes.

And he that lieth in the house shall wash his clothes; and he that eateth in the house shall wash his clothes.

Verse 48

But if the priest comes to check and sees that the mildew has not spread after the house was replastered, he shall pronounce the house clean, because the mildew is gone.

And if the priest shall come in, and look upon it, and, behold, the plague hath not spread in the house, after the house was plaistered: then the priest shall pronounce the house clean, because the plague is healed.

Verse 49

To purify the house, he is to take two birds along with cedar wood, scarlet yarn, and hyssop.

And he shall take to cleanse the house two birds, and cedar wood, and scarlet, and hyssop:

Verse 50

He shall slaughter one of the birds over a clay pot containing fresh water.

And he shall kill the one of the birds in an earthen vessel over running water:

Verse 51

Then he is to take the cedar wood, the hyssop, the scarlet yarn, and the living bird, dip them into the blood of the slaughtered bird and the fresh water, and sprinkle the house seven times.

And he shall take the cedar wood, and the hyssop, and the scarlet, and the living bird, and dip them in the blood of the slain bird, and in the running water, and sprinkle the house seven times:

Verse 52

He shall cleanse the house with the blood of the bird, the fresh water, the living bird, the cedar wood, the hyssop, and the scarlet yarn.

And he shall cleanse the house with the blood of the bird, and with the running water, and with the living bird, and with the cedar wood, and with the hyssop, and with the scarlet:

Verse 53

He shall release the living bird outside the city into the open fields, making atonement for the house, and it will be clean.

But he shall let go the living bird out of the city into the open fields, and make an atonement for the house: and it shall be clean.

Verse 54

This is the law for any case of defiling skin disease or scale,

This is the law for all manner of plague of leprosy, and scall,

Verse 55

and for defiling mildew in clothing or a house,

And for the leprosy of a garment, and of a house,

Verse 56

and for a swelling, a rash, or a shiny spot,

And for a rising, and for a scab, and for a bright spot:

Verse 57

to determine when something is unclean and when it is clean. This is the law regarding defiling skin diseases.

To teach when it is unclean, and when it is clean: this is the law of leprosy.
