Verse 1

The Lord spoke to Moses, saying:

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

Verse 2

Speak to the Israelites and say to them: These are the appointed festivals of the Lord, which you must proclaim as holy assemblies; they are my appointed festivals.

Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts.

Verse 3

For six days work is to be done, but the seventh day is a sabbath of complete rest, a holy assembly. You are not to do any work; it is a sabbath to the Lord in all your dwellings.

Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings.

Verse 4

These are the Lord's appointed festivals, the holy assemblies, which you must proclaim at their appointed times:

These are the feasts of the LORD, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons.

Verse 5

The Lord's Passover begins at twilight on the fourteenth day of the first month.

In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the LORD'S passover.

Verse 6

On the fifteenth day of the same month is the Festival of Unleavened Bread to the Lord. For seven days you must eat unleavened bread.

And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto the LORD: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread.

Verse 7

On the first day, hold a holy assembly; you must not do any regular work.

In the first day ye shall have an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein.

Verse 8

For seven days you are to present a fire offering to the Lord. On the seventh day, hold a holy assembly; you must not do any regular work.

But ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD seven days: in the seventh day is an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein.

Verse 9

The Lord spoke to Moses, saying:

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

Verse 10

Speak to the Israelites and tell them: When you enter the land that I am giving you and you harvest its crops, you must bring the first sheaf of your harvest to the priest.

Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest unto the priest:

Verse 11

The priest will wave the sheaf before the Lord to be accepted on your behalf; he is to wave it on the day after the Sabbath.

And he shall wave the sheaf before the LORD, to be accepted for you: on the morrow after the sabbath the priest shall wave it.

Verse 12

On the day you wave the sheaf, you are to offer a year-old lamb without defect as a burnt offering to the Lord.

And ye shall offer that day when ye wave the sheaf an he lamb without blemish of the first year for a burnt offering unto the LORD.

Verse 13

Together with its grain offering of two-tenths of an ephah of the finest flour mixed with oil as a fire offering to the Lord—a pleasing aroma—and its drink offering of a quarter of a hin of wine.

And the meat offering thereof shall be two tenth deals of fine flour mingled with oil, an offering made by fire unto the LORD for a sweet savour: and the drink offering thereof shall be of wine, the fourth part of an hin.

Verse 14

You must not eat bread, roasted grain, or fresh grain until the very day you bring this offering to your God. This is a perpetual statute for your generations in all your dwellings.

And ye shall eat neither bread, nor parched corn, nor green ears, until the selfsame day that ye have brought an offering unto your God: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.

Verse 15

You shall count for yourselves from the day after the Sabbath, from the day you brought the sheaf of the wave offering, seven full weeks shall be counted.

And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the sabbath, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven sabbaths shall be complete:

Verse 16

Until the day after the seventh Sabbath, you shall count fifty days; then you shall present a new grain offering to the Lord.

Even unto the morrow after the seventh sabbath shall ye number fifty days; and ye shall offer a new meat offering unto the LORD.

Verse 17

Bring from your dwellings two loaves of bread as a wave offering, made from two-tenths of an ephah of fine flour and baked with leaven, as firstfruits to the Lord.

Ye shall bring out of your habitations two wave loaves of two tenth deals: they shall be of fine flour; they shall be baken with leaven; they are the firstfruits unto the LORD.

Verse 18

Along with the bread, present seven unblemished lambs a year old, one young bull, and two rams as burnt offerings to the Lord, along with their grain offerings and drink offerings—an offering made by fire, a pleasing aroma to the Lord.

And ye shall offer with the bread seven lambs without blemish of the first year, and one young bullock, and two rams: they shall be for a burnt offering unto the LORD, with their meat offering, and their drink offerings, even an offering made by fire, of sweet savour unto the LORD.

Verse 19

You shall also prepare one male goat as a sin offering and two year-old male lambs as a fellowship offering.

Then ye shall sacrifice one kid of the goats for a sin offering, and two lambs of the first year for a sacrifice of peace offerings.

Verse 20

The priest shall wave them with the bread of the firstfruits as a wave offering before the Lord, along with the two lambs; they are holy to the Lord and assigned to the priest.

And the priest shall wave them with the bread of the firstfruits for a wave offering before the LORD, with the two lambs: they shall be holy to the LORD for the priest.

Verse 21

On that same day you shall proclaim a sacred assembly, and you must not do any regular work. This shall be a perpetual statute for all your generations in all your dwellings.

And ye shall proclaim on the selfsame day, that it may be an holy convocation unto you: ye shall do no servile work therein: it shall be a statute for ever in all your dwellings throughout your generations.

Verse 22

When you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not completely harvest the corners of your field, nor gather the gleanings of your harvest. Leave them for the poor and for the foreigner. I am the Lord your God.

And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not make clean riddance of the corners of thy field when thou reapest, neither shalt thou gather any gleaning of thy harvest: thou shalt leave them unto the poor, and to the stranger: I am the LORD your God.

Verse 23

The Lord spoke to Moses, saying:

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

Verse 24

Speak to the Israelites and tell them: In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall hold a day of rest, a memorial with trumpet blasts, a sacred assembly.

Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation.

Verse 25

You must not do any regular work, and you shall present a fire offering to the Lord.

Ye shall do no servile work therein: but ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD.

Verse 26

The Lord spoke to Moses, saying:

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

Verse 27

However, on the tenth day of this seventh month is the Day of Atonement. You shall hold a sacred assembly, humble yourselves, and present a fire offering to the Lord.

Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD.

Verse 28

You must not do any work on that very day, because it is a Day of Atonement to make atonement for you before the Lord your God.

And ye shall do no work in that same day: for it is a day of atonement, to make an atonement for you before the LORD your God.

Verse 29

Anyone who does not humble themselves on this very day will be cut off from their people.

For whatsoever soul it be that shall not be afflicted in that same day, he shall be cut off from among his people.

Verse 30

I will destroy anyone among you who does any work on that day.

And whatsoever soul it be that doeth any work in that same day, the same soul will I destroy from among his people.

Verse 31

You must not do any work. This is a perpetual statute for your generations in all your dwellings.

Ye shall do no manner of work: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.

Verse 32

It shall be a Sabbath of complete rest for you, and you shall humble yourselves. It begins on the ninth day of the month at evening, from evening to evening you shall observe your Sabbath.

It shall be unto you a sabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your sabbath.

Verse 33

The Lord spoke to Moses, saying:

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

Verse 34

Speak to the Israelites and say: On the fifteenth day of this seventh month the Festival of Booths to the Lord begins, and it shall last for seven days.

Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto the LORD.

Verse 35

On the first day there shall be a sacred assembly. You must not do any regular work.

On the first day shall be an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein.

Verse 36

For seven days you are to present fire offerings to the Lord. On the eighth day you shall hold a sacred assembly and present a fire offering to the Lord. It is a solemn assembly; you must not do any regular work.

Seven days ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD: on the eighth day shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD: it is a solemn assembly; and ye shall do no servile work therein.

Verse 37

These are the appointed festivals of the Lord that you are to proclaim as sacred assemblies for presenting fire offerings to the Lord—burnt offerings, grain offerings, sacrifices, and drink offerings, each on its designated day—

These are the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD, a burnt offering, and a meat offering, a sacrifice, and drink offerings, every thing upon his day:

Verse 38

in addition to the Lord's Sabbaths, your gifts, all your vow offerings, and all your freewill offerings you give to the Lord.

Beside the sabbaths of the LORD, and beside your gifts, and beside all your vows, and beside all your freewill offerings, which ye give unto the LORD.

Verse 39

However, on the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you gather in the produce of the land, you must celebrate the Lord's Festival for seven days. The first day shall be a day of rest, and the eighth day shall also be a day of rest.

Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruit of the land, ye shall keep a feast unto the LORD seven days: on the first day shall be a sabbath, and on the eighth day shall be a sabbath.

Verse 40

On the first day, you shall take for yourselves the fruit of splendid trees, palm branches, leafy tree boughs, and willows of the brook, and you shall rejoice before the Lord your God for seven days.

And ye shall take you on the first day the boughs of goodly trees, branches of palm trees, and the boughs of thick trees, and willows of the brook; and ye shall rejoice before the LORD your God seven days.

Verse 41

You shall celebrate it as a festival to the Lord for seven days each year. This is a perpetual statute for your generations; you shall observe it in the seventh month.

And ye shall keep it a feast unto the LORD seven days in the year. It shall be a statute for ever in your generations: ye shall celebrate it in the seventh month.

Verse 42

You shall live in booths for seven days. Every native-born Israelite is to dwell in booths,

Ye shall dwell in booths seven days; all that are Israelites born shall dwell in booths:

Verse 43

so that your generations may know that I made the Israelites dwell in booths when I brought them out of the land of Egypt. I am the Lord your God.

That your generations may know that I made the children of Israel to dwell in booths, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.

Verse 44

So Moses declared to the Israelites the appointed festivals of the Lord.

And Moses declared unto the children of Israel the feasts of the LORD.
