1 To you, O LORD, I lift up my soul.

Unto thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul.

2 O my God, I trust in you; do not let me be put to shame, do not let my enemies triumph over me.

O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.

3 Indeed, none who wait for you will be put to shame; but those who act treacherously without cause will be ashamed.

Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause.

4 Show me your ways, O LORD; teach me your paths.

Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths.

5 Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; I wait for you all day long.

Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.

6 Remember your mercy, O LORD, and your steadfast love, for they have been from of old.

Remember, O LORD, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for they have been ever of old.

7 Do not remember the sins of my youth or my transgressions; according to your steadfast love, remember me, for the sake of your goodness, O LORD.

Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness' sake, O LORD.

8 Good and upright is the LORD; therefore, he guides sinners in the way.

Good and upright is the LORD: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.

9 He guides the humble in what is right and teaches the humble his way.

The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.

10 All the paths of the LORD are steadfast love and faithfulness to those who keep his covenant and his testimonies.

All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.

11 For the sake of your name, O LORD, forgive my iniquity, for it is great.

For thy name's sake, O LORD, pardon mine iniquity; for it is great.

12 Who is the one who fears the LORD? He will instruct them in the way they should choose.

What man is he that feareth the LORD? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.

13 His soul will dwell in well-being, and his offspring will inherit the land.

His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth.

14 The secret counsel of the LORD is for those who fear him, and he makes his covenant known to them.

The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.

15 My eyes are ever towards the LORD, for he will free my feet from the net.

Mine eyes are ever toward the LORD; for he shall pluck my feet out of the net.

16 Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted.

Turn thee unto me, and have mercy upon me; for I am desolate and afflicted.

17 The troubles of my heart have multiplied; deliver me from my distresses.

The troubles of my heart are enlarged: O bring thou me out of my distresses.

18 Look on my affliction and my pain, and forgive all my sins.

Look upon mine affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins.

19 Look at my enemies, for they are many, and they hate me with violent hatred.

Consider mine enemies; for they are many; and they hate me with cruel hatred.

20 Guard my life and deliver me; do not let me be put to shame, for I take refuge in you.

O keep my soul, and deliver me: let me not be ashamed; for I put my trust in thee.

21 May integrity and uprightness protect me, because I wait for you.

Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee.

22 Redeem Israel, O God, from all its troubles.

Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his troubles.
