1 For the choir director, a psalm of David, a song.

Praise waiteth for thee, O God, in Sion: and unto thee shall the vow be performed.

2 Praise awaits you, O God, in Zion, and to you vows will be fulfilled.

O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come.

3 You who hear prayer, to you all humanity will come.

Iniquities prevail against me: as for our transgressions, thou shalt purge them away.

4 Though our sins overwhelm us, you forgive our transgressions.

Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple.

5 Blessed are those you choose and bring near to live in your courts. We are filled with the goodness of your house, of your holy temple.

By terrible things in righteousness wilt thou answer us, O God of our salvation; who art the confidence of all the ends of the earth, and of them that are afar off upon the sea:

6 You answer us with awesome and righteous deeds, O God of our salvation, the hope of all the ends of the earth and of the farthest seas.

Which by his strength setteth fast the mountains; being girded with power:

7 You formed the mountains by your strength, being armed with power.

Which stilleth the noise of the seas, the noise of their waves, and the tumult of the people.

8 You still the roaring of the seas, the roaring of their waves, and the turmoil of the nations.

They also that dwell in the uttermost parts are afraid at thy tokens: thou makest the outgoings of the morning and evening to rejoice.

9 The whole earth is awed by your signs; where morning dawns and evening fades, you call forth songs of joy.

Thou visitest the earth, and waterest it: thou greatly enrichest it with the river of God, which is full of water: thou preparest them corn, when thou hast so provided for it.

10 You care for the land and water it; you enrich it abundantly. The streams of God are filled with water to provide the people with grain, for so you have prepared it.

Thou waterest the ridges thereof abundantly: thou settlest the furrows thereof: thou makest it soft with showers: thou blessest the springing thereof.

11 You water its furrows abundantly, settle its ridges, and soften it with showers, blessing its growth.

Thou crownest the year with thy goodness; and thy paths drop fatness.

12 You crown the year with your bounty, and your paths overflow with abundance.

They drop upon the pastures of the wilderness: and the little hills rejoice on every side.

13 The wilderness pastures overflow, and the hills are clothed with joy.

The pastures are clothed with flocks; the valleys also are covered over with corn; they shout for joy, they also sing.

14 The meadows are covered with flocks, and the valleys are dressed with grain; they shout for joy and sing.
