1 For the director of music, according to Gittith. A psalm of the sons of Korah.

How amiable are thy tabernacles, O LORD of hosts!

2 How lovely are Your dwelling places, O LORD of hosts!

My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the LORD: my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God.

3 My soul longs, indeed, it faints for the courts of the LORD; my heart and my flesh sing for joy to the living God.

Yea, the sparrow hath found an house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, even thine altars, O LORD of hosts, my King, and my God.

4 Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young—at Your altars, O LORD of hosts, my King and my God.

Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. Selah.

5 Blessed are those who dwell in Your house, ever praising You. Selah.

Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them.

6 Blessed is the one whose strength is in You, whose heart is set on pilgrimage.

Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well; the rain also filleth the pools.

7 As they pass through the Valley of Baca, they make it a place of springs; the early rain covers it with blessings.

They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God.

8 They go from strength to strength until each appears before God in Zion.

O LORD God of hosts, hear my prayer: give ear, O God of Jacob. Selah.

9 O LORD God of hosts, hear my prayer; give ear, O God of Jacob. Selah.

Behold, O God our shield, and look upon the face of thine anointed.

10 Behold our shield, O God, and look with favor upon Your anointed.

For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.

11 For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather stand at the threshold of the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness.

For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

12 For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD bestows favor and honor. No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly.

O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.

13 O LORD of hosts, blessed is the one who trusts in You.
