Revelation 4

1 After these things I saw, and behold, a door standing open in heaven. The first voice, which I had heard speaking to me like a trumpet, said, "Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after these things."

After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.

2 Immediately I was in the Spirit, and behold, a throne was set in heaven, and someone was seated on the throne.

And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.

3 The one seated there had an appearance like jasper and carnelian, and all around the throne was a rainbow that had the appearance of an emerald.

And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.

4 Surrounding the throne were twenty-four thrones, and upon these thrones sat twenty-four elders, clothed in white garments and wearing golden crowns on their heads.

And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold.

5 From the throne came flashes of lightning, rumblings, and peals of thunder. In front of the throne were seven blazing torches, which are the seven Spirits of God.

And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God.

6 Before the throne there was what looked like a sea of glass, clear as crystal. In the middle of the throne and around it were four living creatures, full of eyes in front and behind.

And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind.

7 The first living creature was like a lion, the second living creature was like an ox, the third living creature had a face like a man, and the fourth living creature was like a flying eagle.

And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle.

8 Each of the four living creatures had six wings and were covered with eyes all around, even under their wings. Day and night they never stop saying: "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, who is, and who is to come."

And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.

9 Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor, and thanks to the one seated on the throne, who lives forever and ever,

And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever,

10 The twenty-four elders will fall down before the one seated on the throne and worship the one who lives forever and ever. They will cast their crowns before the throne, saying:

The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying,

11 "You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory, honor, and power, for you created all things, and by your will they exist and were created."

Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.
