1 Herrens ord kom igjen til meg, og sa:

Again the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

2 Menneskesønn, la Jerusalem kjenne sine avskyeligheter;

Son of man, cause Jerusalem to know her abominations;

3 Og si: Så sier Herren Gud til Jerusalem: Din opprinnelse og fødsel kommer fra kanaanittenes land; amoritten var din far, og hettitten din mor.

and say, Thus says the Lord Yahweh to Jerusalem: Your birth and your birth is of the land of the Canaanite; the Amorite was your father, and your mother was a Hittite.

4 Når det gjelder din fødsel, ble din navlestreng ikke kuttet den dagen du ble født, du ble heller ikke vasket i vann for å bli ren; du ble ikke saltet eller svøpt.

As for your birth, in the day you were born your navel was not cut, neither were you washed in water to cleanse you; you weren't salted at all, nor swaddled at all.

5 Ingen så medlidenhet med deg, så ingen av disse tingene ble gjort for å vise deg barmhjertighet; men du ble kastet ut på marken og var foraktet den dagen du ble født.

No eye pitied you, to do any of these things to you, to have compassion on you; but you were cast out in the open field, for that your person was abhorred, in the day that you were born.

When I passed by you, and saw you weltering in your blood, I said to you, [Though you are] in your blood, live; yes, I said to you, [Though you are] in your blood, live.

7 Jeg lot deg mangfoldiggjøres som det som vokser på marken, og du vokste og ble stor, og du ble utstyrt med praktfulle ornamenter; dine bryst formet seg, og ditt hår vokste, men du var naken og bar.

I caused you to multiply as that which grows in the field, and you increased and grew great, and you attained to excellent ornament; your breasts were fashioned, and your hair was grown; yet you were naked and bare.

8 Da jeg gikk forbi deg og så på deg, så var din tid kommet, tid for kjærlighet; og jeg bredte min kappe over deg og dekket din nakenhet. Ja, jeg sverget til deg og inngikk en pakt med deg, sier Herren Gud, og du ble min.

Now when I passed by you, and looked at you, behold, your time was the time of love; and I spread my skirt over you, and covered your nakedness: yes, I swore to you, and entered into a covenant with you, says the Lord Yahweh, and you became mine.

9 Så vasket jeg deg med vann, jeg skylte bort blodet fra deg, og jeg salvet deg med olje.

Then washed I you with water; yes, I thoroughly washed away your blood from you, and I anointed you with oil.

10 Jeg kledde deg også i brodert arbeid, og satte deg på sko av selhud, og omgav deg med fint lin, og dekket deg med silke.

I clothed you also with embroidered work, and shod you with sealskin, and I girded you about with fine linen, and covered you with silk.

11 Jeg pyntet deg med smykker, jeg satte armbånd på dine hender og en lenke om din hals.

I decked you with ornaments, and I put bracelets on your hands, and a chain on your neck.

12 Jeg satte en ring i din nese, og øredobber i dine ører, og en vakker krone på ditt hode.

I put a ring on your nose, and ear-rings in your ears, and a beautiful crown on your head.

13 Slik ble du utstyrt med gull og sølv, og dine klær var av fint lin, silke, og brodert arbeid; du spiste fint mel, honning og olje; og du ble overmåte vakker, og du ble forfremmet til kongelig rang.

Thus was you decked with gold and silver; and your clothing was of fine linen, and silk, and embroidered work; you ate fine flour, and honey, and oil; and you were exceeding beautiful, and you did prosper to royal estate.

14 Din ry ble kjent blant nasjonene for din skjønnhet, for den var fullkommen gjennom min herlighet som jeg hadde gitt deg, sier Herren Gud.

Your renown went forth among the nations for your beauty; for it was perfect, through my majesty which I had put on you, says the Lord Yahweh.

15 Men du stolte på din skjønnhet og drev hor på grunn av din ry, og utøste din utukt på enhver som kom forbi; hans ble det.

But you did trust in your beauty, and played the prostitute because of your renown, and poured out your prostitution on everyone who passed by; his it was.

16 Du tok av dine klær og laget deg høye steder prydet med farger, og drev hor der; slikt skjer ikke, og det skal ikke være slik.

You took of your garments, and made for yourselves high places decked with various colors, and played the prostitute on them: [the like things] shall not come, neither shall it be [so].

17 Du tok også dine vakre smykker av mitt gull og sølv som jeg hadde gitt deg, og laget deg bilder av menn og drev hor med dem;

You also took your beautiful jewels of my gold and of my silver, which I had given you, and made for yourself images of men, and played the prostitute with them;

18 Du tok dine broderte klær og dekket dem, og satte min olje og min røkelse foran dem.

and you took your embroidered garments, and covered them, and did set my oil and my incense before them.

19 Mitt brød også, som jeg hadde gitt deg, fint mel, olje og honning, med det jeg hadde sørget for deg, satte du også foran dem til en velduftende offer; slik ble det, sier Herren Gud.

My bread also which I gave you, fine flour, and oil, and honey, with which I fed you, you did even set it before them for a sweet savor; and [thus] it was, says the Lord Yahweh.

20 Du har til og med tatt dine sønner og døtre, som du hadde født til meg, og slaktet dem for dem å fortære. Var din utukt en liten sak,

Moreover you have taken your sons and your daughters, whom you have borne to me, and these have you sacrificed to them to be devoured. Were your prostitution a small matter,

21 at du også har drept mine barn og overgitt dem, da du lot dem gå gjennom ilden til dem?

that you have slain my children, and delivered them up, in causing them to pass through [the fire] to them?

22 I alle dine avskyeligheter og din utukt har du ikke husket din ungdoms dager, da du var naken og bar, og lå i ditt blod.

In all your abominations and your prostitution you have not remembered the days of your youth, when you were naked and bare, and was weltering in your blood.

23 Etter all din ondskap (ve, ve til deg! sier Herren Gud),

It is happen after all your wickedness, (woe, woe to you! says the Lord Yahweh),

24 har du bygget deg en hvelvet plass og laget deg en høy plass på enhver gate.

that you have built to you a vaulted place, and have made you a lofty place in every street.

25 Du har bygget din høye plass på hvert gatehjørne og gjort din skjønnhet skammelig, og åpnet dine føtter for enhver som gikk forbi, og multiplisert din utukt.

You have built your lofty place at the head of every way, and have made your beauty an abomination, and have opened your feet to everyone who passed by, and multiplied your prostitution.

26 Du har også drevet utukt med egypterne, dine nærmeste naboer, stor i kjøtt; og multiplisert din utukt for å vekke min vrede.

You have also committed sexual immorality with the Egyptians, your neighbors, great of flesh; and have multiplied your prostitution, to provoke me to anger.

27 Se derfor, jeg har rakt ut min hånd over deg, og har redusert din del av vanlig mat, og overgitt deg til dem som hater deg, til filisternes døtre, som skammer seg over din skamløse vei.

See therefore, I have stretched out my hand over you, and have diminished your ordinary [food], and delivered you to the will of those who hate you, the daughters of the Philistines, who are ashamed of your lewd way.

28 Du har også drevet utukt med assyrerne, fordi du ikke kunne få nok; ja, du har drevet utukt med dem, men du ble ikke tilfredsstilt.

You have played the prostitute also with the Assyrians, because you were insatiable; yes, you have played the prostitute with them, and yet you weren't satisfied.

29 Du har forøket din utukt til kaldeernes land, men heller ikke da ble du tilfredsstilt.

You have moreover multiplied your prostitution to the land of merchants, to Chaldea; and yet you weren't satisfied with this.

30 Så svak er ditt hjerte, sier Herren Gud, når du gjør alle disse tingene, en frekk horkvinnes arbeid;

How weak is your heart, says the Lord Yahweh, seeing you do all these things, the work of an impudent prostitute;

31 når du bygger din hvelvingsplass på hvert gatehjørne, og lager din høye plass på hver gate, men ikke har vært som en prostituert, i det du forakter betaling.

in that you build your vaulted place at the head of every way, and make your lofty place in every street, and have not been as a prostitute, in that you scorn pay.

32 En kvinne som begår utroskap! som tar fremmede i stedet for sin ektemann!

A wife who commits adultery! who takes strangers instead of her husband!

33 De gir gaver til alle prostituerte; men du gir dine gaver til alle dine elskere, og bestikker dem, for at de skal komme til deg fra alle kanter for din utukt.

They give gifts to all prostitutes; but you give your gifts to all your lovers, and bribe them, that they may come to you on every side for your prostitution.

34 Du er annerledes enn [andre] kvinner i din utukt, i det ingen følger deg for å drive hor; og mens du gir lønn, og det ikke gis lønn til deg, derfor er du annerledes.

You are different from [other] women in your prostitution, in that none follows you to play the prostitute; and whereas you give hire, and no hire is given to you, therefore you are different.

35 Derfor, hore, hør Herrens ord:

Therefore, prostitute, hear the word of Yahweh:

36 Så sier Herren Gud: Fordi din urenhet ble utøst, og din nakenhet avdekket gjennom din utukt med dine elskere; og på grunn av alle de avskyelige avgudene dine, og for blodet av dine barn som du ga dem;

Thus says the Lord Yahweh, Because your filthiness was poured out, and your nakedness uncovered through your prostitution with your lovers; and because of all the idols of your abominations, and for the blood of your children, that you gave to them;

37 derfor, se, jeg vil samle alle dine elskere som du har hatt glede av, og alle som du har elsket, med alle som du har hatet; jeg vil til og med samle dem mot deg fra alle sider, og avdekke din nakenhet for dem, så de kan se all din nakenhet.

therefore see, I will gather all your lovers, with whom you have taken pleasure, and all those who you have loved, with all those who you have hated; I will even gather them against you on every side, and will uncover your nakedness to them, that they may see all your nakedness.

38 Jeg vil dømme deg, som kvinner som bryter ekteskapet og utgyder blod blir dømt; og jeg vil bringe over deg blodsangspot og sjalusiens blod.

I will judge you, as women who break wedlock and shed blood are judged; and I will bring on you the blood of wrath and jealousy.

39 Jeg vil også overgi deg i deres hånd, og de skal rive ned din hvelvingsplass, og bryte ned dine høye plasser; og de skal kle av deg dine klær, og ta dine vakre smykker; og de skal etterlate deg naken og bar.

I will also give you into their hand, and they shall throw down your vaulted place, and break down your lofty places; and they shall strip you of your clothes, and take your beautiful jewels; and they shall leave you naked and bare.

40 De skal også bringe opp en flokk mot deg, og de skal steine deg med steiner, og stikke deg med sine sverd.

They shall also bring up a company against you, and they shall stone you with stones, and thrust you through with their swords.

41 De skal brenne dine hus med ild, og henrette dommer over deg i synet av mange kvinner; og jeg vil få deg til å slutte med å drive utukt, og du skal heller ikke lenger gi noen betaling.

They shall burn your houses with fire, and execute judgments on you in the sight of many women; and I will cause you to cease from playing the prostitute, and you shall also give no hire any more.

42 Så vil jeg få min vrede mot deg til å legge seg, og min sjalusi skal forlate deg, og jeg vil være stille, og ikke lenger være sint.

So will I cause my wrath toward you to rest, and my jealousy shall depart from you, and I will be quiet, and will be no more angry.

43 Fordi du ikke har husket din ungdoms dager, men har rystet mot meg i alle disse ting, derfor, se, jeg vil også bringe din vei over ditt hode, sier Herren Gud: og du skal ikke utføre denne skamløse gjerningen med alle dine avskyeligheter.

Because you have not remembered the days of your youth, but have raged against me in all these things; therefore, behold, I also will bring your way on your head, says the Lord Yahweh: and you shall not commit this lewdness with all your abominations.

44 Se, alle som bruker ordtak, skal bruke dette ordtaket mot deg, siende: Som moren, så datteren.

Behold, everyone who uses proverbs shall use [this] proverb against you, saying, As is the mother, so is her daughter.

45 Du er din mors datter, som forakter sin ektemann og sine barn; og du er din søsters søster, som foraktet sine ektemenn og sine barn: din mor var en hettitt, og din far en amoritt.

You are the daughter of your mother, who loathes her husband and her children; and you are the sister of your sisters, who loathed their husbands and their children: your mother was a Hittite, and your father an Amorite.

46 Din eldre søster er Samaria, som bor til venstre for deg, hun og hennes døtre; og din yngre søster, som bor til høyre for deg, er Sodoma og hennes døtre.

Your elder sister is Samaria, who dwells at your left hand, she and her daughters; and your younger sister, who dwells at your right hand, is Sodom and her daughters.

47 Men du har ikke fulgt deres veier, og heller ikke gjort etter deres avskyeligheter; men som om det var en liten ting, har du vært mer korrupt enn de i alle dine veier.

Yet have you not walked in their ways, nor done after their abominations; but, as [if that were] a very little [thing], you were more corrupt than they in all your ways.

48 Så sant jeg lever, sier Herren Gud, har din søster Sodoma ikke gjort, hun eller hennes døtre, slik som du har gjort, du og dine døtre.

As I live, says the Lord Yahweh, Sodom your sister has not done, she nor her daughters, as you have done, you and your daughters.

49 Se, dette var din søster Sodomas synd: stolthet, overflod av brød, og fredelig letthet var i henne og i hennes døtre; de styrket heller ikke den fattige og trengendes hånd.

Behold, this was the iniquity of your sister Sodom: pride, fullness of bread, and prosperous ease was in her and in her daughters; neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.

50 De var stolte og begikk avskyelighet foran meg, derfor tok jeg dem bort da jeg så det for godt.

They were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw [good].

51 Samaria har heller ikke begått halvparten av dine synder; men du har mangedoblet dine avskyeligheter mer enn de, og har rettferdiggjort dine søstre med alle dine avskyeligheter som du har gjort.

Neither has Samaria committed half of your sins; but you have multiplied your abominations more than they, and have justified your sisters by all your abominations which you have done.

52 Du også, bær din egen skam, i det du har gitt dom for dine søstre; gjennom dine synder har du begått mer avskyeligheter enn de, de er mer rettferdige enn du: ja, vær også forvirret og bær din skam, i det du har rettferdiggjort dine søstre.

You also, bear you your own shame, in that you have given judgment for your sisters; through your sins that you have committed more abominable than they, they are more righteous that you: yes, be also confounded, and bear your shame, in that you have justified your sisters.

53 Jeg vil omvende deres fangenskap, fangenskapet til Sodoma og hennes døtre, og fangenskapet til Samaria og hennes døtre, og ditt fangenskap midt iblant dem;

I will turn again their captivity, the captivity of Sodom and her daughters, and the captivity of Samaria and her daughters, and the captivity of your captives in the midst of them;

54 så du kan bære din egen skam, og være skamfull på grunn av alt det du har gjort, i det du er til trøst for dem.

that you may bear your own shame, and may be ashamed because of all that you have done, in that you are a comfort to them.

55 Dine søstre, Sodoma og hennes døtre, skal vende tilbake til sin tidligere stand; og Samaria og hennes døtre skal vende tilbake til sin tidligere stand; og du og dine døtre skal vende tilbake til din tidligere stand.

Your sisters, Sodom and her daughters, shall return to their former estate; and Samaria and her daughters shall return to their former estate; and you and your daughters shall return to your former estate.

56 For din søster Sodoma ble ikke nevnt av din munn på din stolthets dag,

For your sister Sodom was not mentioned by your mouth in the day of your pride,

57 før din ondskap ble avdekket, som ved tiden for skammen fra Syrias døtre og alle som er rundt henne, filisternes døtre, som forakter deg rundt omkring.

before your wickedness was uncovered, as at the time of the reproach of the daughters of Syria, and of all who are round about her, the daughters of the Philistines, who do despite to you round about.

58 Du har båret din skamløshet og dine avskyeligheter, sier Herren.

You have borne your lewdness and your abominations, says Yahweh.

59 For så sier Herren Gud: Jeg vil også behandle deg som du har gjort, som har foraktet eden ved å bryte pakten.

For thus says the Lord Yahweh: I will also deal with you as you have done, who have despised the oath in breaking the covenant.

60 Likevel vil jeg huske min pakt med deg i ungdommens dager, og jeg vil opprette en evig pakt med deg.

Nevertheless I will remember my covenant with you in the days of your youth, and I will establish to you an everlasting covenant.

61 Da skal du huske dine veier, og skamme deg, når du skal motta dine søstre, dine eldre [søstre] og dine yngre; og jeg vil gi dem til deg som døtre, men ikke gjennom din pakt.

Then shall you remember your ways, and be ashamed, when you shall receive your sisters, your elder [sisters] and your younger; and I will give them to you for daughters, but not by your covenant.

62 Jeg vil opprette min pakt med deg, og du skal få kjenne at jeg er Herren;

I will establish my covenant with you; and you shall know that I am Yahweh;

63 slik at du kan huske, og forvirres, og aldri mer åpne din munn på grunn av din skam, når jeg har tilgitt deg alt det du har gjort, sier Herren Gud.

that you may remember, and be confounded, and never open your mouth any more, because of your shame, when I have forgiven you all that you have done, says the Lord Yahweh.
