1 Det skjedde på den åttende dagen at Moses kalte til seg Aron og hans sønner, samt Israels eldste.

It happened on the eighth day, that Moses called Aaron and his sons, and the elders of Israel;

2 Og han sa til Aron: "Ta en kalv fra flokken som syndoffer og en feilfri vær som brennoffer, og bring dem frem for Herren.

and he said to Aaron, "Take a calf from the herd for a sin offering, and a ram for a burnt offering, without blemish, and offer them before Yahweh.

3 Du skal tale til Israels barn og si: 'Ta en geitebukk til syndoffer, og en kalv og et lam, begge ett år gamle og uten feil, som brennoffer.

You shall speak to the children of Israel, saying, 'Take a male goat for a sin offering; and a calf and a lamb, both a year old, without blemish, for a burnt offering;

4 Og en okse og en vær som fredsoffer for å ofre for Herren; sammen med et matoffer blandet med olje, for i dag vil Herren åpenbare seg for dere.'"

and an ox and a ram for peace offerings, to sacrifice before Yahweh; and a meal offering mixed with oil: for today Yahweh appears to you.'"

5 De brakte det Moses hadde befalt foran møteteltet, og hele menigheten samlet seg og sto foran Herren.

They brought what Moses commanded before the Tent of Meeting: and all the congregation drew near and stood before Yahweh.

6 Moses sa: "Dette er det Herren har befalt dere å gjøre, så Herrens herlighet vil åpenbare seg for dere."

Moses said, "This is the thing which Yahweh commanded that you should do: and the glory of Yahweh shall appear to you."

7 Moses sa til Aron: "Gå frem til alteret, bær frem ditt syndoffer og ditt brennoffer, og gjør soning for deg selv og for folket; og bær frem folkets offer og gjør soning for dem, slik Herren har befalt."

Moses said to Aaron, "Draw near to the altar, and offer your sin offering, and your burnt offering, and make atonement for yourself, and for the people; and offer the offering of the people, and make atonement for them; as Yahweh commanded."

8 Så gikk Aron frem til alteret og slaktet kalven som var syndofferet for ham selv.

So Aaron drew near to the altar, and killed the calf of the sin offering, which was for himself.

9 Arons sønner brakte blodet til ham; han dyppet fingeren i blodet og satte det på alterets horn, og helte blodet ut ved alterets fot.

The sons of Aaron presented the blood to him; and he dipped his finger in the blood, and put it on the horns of the altar, and poured out the blood at the base of the altar:

10 Men fettet, nyrene og leveren fra syndofferet brente han på alteret, slik Herren hadde befalt Moses.

but the fat, and the kidneys, and the cover from the liver of the sin offering, he burned upon the altar; as Yahweh commanded Moses.

11 Kjøttet og huden brente han med ild utenfor leiren.

The flesh and the skin he burned with fire outside the camp.

12 Han slaktet brennofferet, og Arons sønner overrakte blodet til ham, og han stenket det rundt på alteret.

He killed the burnt offering; and Aaron's sons delivered the blood to him, and he sprinkled it on the altar round about.

13 De brakte brennofferet til ham, stykke for stykke, og hodet, og han brente dem på alteret.

They delivered the burnt offering to him, piece by piece, and the head: and he burned them upon the altar.

14 Han vasket innmaten og føttene, og brente dem sammen med brennofferet på alteret.

He washed the innards and the legs, and burned them on the burnt offering on the altar.

15 Han brakte folkets offer, tok syndofferbukken som var for folket, slaktet den, og ofret den som syndoffer, slik den første.

He presented the people's offering, and took the goat of the sin offering which was for the people, and killed it, and offered it for sin, like the first.

16 Han brakte brennofferet og ofret det etter forskriftene.

He presented the burnt offering, and offered it according to the ordinance.

17 Han brakte frem matofferet, fylte hånden fra det og brente det på alteret, i tillegg til morgenens brennoffer.

He presented the meal offering, and filled his hand from there, and burned it upon the altar, besides the burnt offering of the morning.

18 Han slaktet også oksen og væren som var fredsoffer for folket; og Arons sønner brakte blodet til ham, og han stenket det rundt på alteret.

He also killed the ox and the ram, the sacrifice of peace offerings, which was for the people: and Aaron's sons delivered to him the blood, which he sprinkled on the altar round about,

19 Og fettet fra oksen og væren, fetthalen, innmaten, nyrene og leveren,

and the fat of the ox and of the ram, the fat tail, and that which covers the innards, and the kidneys, and the cover of the liver:

20 de la fettet på brystene, og han brente fettet på alteret.

and they put the fat upon the breasts, and he burned the fat on the altar:

21 Brystene og høyre lår svingte Aron som et svingeoffer for Herren, slik Moses hadde befalt.

and the breasts and the right thigh Aaron waved for a wave offering before Yahweh, as Moses commanded.

22 Aron løftet sine hender mot folket og velsignet dem, og han steg ned etter å ha båret frem syndofferet, brennofferet og fredsofrene.

Aaron lifted up his hands toward the people, and blessed them; and he came down from offering the sin offering, and the burnt offering, and the peace offerings.

23 Moses og Aron gikk inn i møteteltet og kom ut og velsignet folket; og Herrens herlighet åpenbarte seg for hele folket.

Moses and Aaron went into the Tent of Meeting, and came out, and blessed the people: and the glory of Yahweh appeared to all the people.

24 Det kom ild fra Herrens nærvær og fortærte brennofferet og fettet på alteret; og da hele folket så det, ropte de høyt og kastet seg ned på sitt ansikt.

There came forth fire from before Yahweh, and consumed the burnt offering and the fat upon the altar: and when all the people saw it, they shouted, and fell on their faces.
