Then she sayd: I desire a litle petition of thee, I pray thee say me not nay. And the king sayd vnto her: Aske on, my mother, for I wil not say thee nay.

    14Beholde, whyle thou yet talkest there with the king, I wil come in after thee, and confirme thy wordes.

    15And Bethsabe went in vnto the king into the chamber: And the king was very olde, and Abisag the Sunamite ministred vnto the king.

    16And Bethsabe stouped & made obeysaunce vnto the king: And the king sayd, What is thy matter?

    17She aunswered: My lorde, thou swarest by the Lorde thy God vnto thine handmayde saying Assuredly Solomon thy sonne shall raigne after me, and he shall sit vpon my seate.
