Verse 1

A song of high degrees. I lyft vp myne eyes vnto thee: who dwellest in heauen.

Verse 2

Beholde, as the eyes of seruauntes loke vnto the hande of their maisters, and as the eyes of a mayden vnto the hande of her maistresse: euen so our eyes wayte vpon God our Lorde vntyll he haue mercie vpon vs.

Verse 3

Haue mercy vpon vs O God, haue mercy vpon vs: for we haue suffered enough of dispite.

Verse 4

Our soule is filled with the scornefull reprofe of the wealthy: and with the dispitefulnes of the proude.
