And King Ahaz went vnto Damascus to meete Tiglath Pileser King of Asshur: and when King Ahaz sawe the altar that was at Damascus, he sent to Vriiah the Priest the paterne of the altar, and the facion of it, and all the workemanship thereof.

    16 And Vriiah the Priest did according to all that King Ahaz had commanded.

    17 And King Ahaz brake the borders of the bases, and tooke the caldrons from off them, and tooke downe the sea from the brasen oxen that were vnder it, and put it vpon a pauement of stones.

    18 And the vaile for the Sabbath (that they had made in the house) & the Kings entrie without turned he to the house of the Lord, because of the King of Asshur.

    19 Concerning the rest of the actes of Ahaz, which he did, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Iudah?

    20 And Ahaz slept with his fathers, and was buryed with his fathers in the citie of Dauid, and Hezekiah his sonne reigned in his steade.

    1 The seuenteenth yeere of Pekah the sonne of Remaliah, Ahaz the sonne of Iotham King of Iudah began to reigne.

    2 Twentie yeere olde was Ahaz, when hee began to reigne, and he reigned sixteene yeere in Ierusalem, and did not vprightly in the sight of the Lord his God, like Dauid his father:

    3 But walked in the way of ye kings of Israel, yea, and made his sonne to go through the fire, after the abominations of the heathen, whom the Lord had cast out before the children of Israel.

    4 Also he offred and burnt incense in the hie places & on the hilles, & vnder euery greene tree.

    5 Then Rezin king of Aram and Pekah sonne of Remaliah King of Israel came vp to Ierusalem to fight: and they besieged Ahaz, but could not ouercome him.

    6 At the same time Rezin king of Aram restored Elath to Aram, & droue the Iewes from Elath: so the Aramites came to Elath, and dwelt there vnto this day.

    7 Then Ahaz sent messengers to Tiglath Pileser king of Asshur, saying, I am thy seruant & thy sonne: come vp, & deliuer me out of the hand of the king of Aram, and out of the hand of the King of Israel which rise vp against me.

    8 And Ahaz tooke the siluer and the golde that was found in the house of the Lord, and in the treasures of the Kings house, and sent a present vnto the King of Asshur.

    9 And the King of Asshur consented vnto him: and the King of Asshur went vp against Damascus; when he had taken it, he caryed the people away to Kir, and slew Rezin.

    19 For the Lord had humbled Iudah, because of Ahaz King of Israel: for he had brought vengeance vpon Iudah, and had grieuously transgressed against the Lord)

    20 And Tilgath Pilneeser king of Asshur came vnto him, who troubled him and did not strengthen him.

    21 For Ahaz tooke a portion out of the house of the Lord & out of the Kings house and of the Princes, and gaue vnto the king of Asshur: yet it helped him not.

    22 And in ye time of his tribulation did he yet trespasse more against ye Lord, (this is King Ahaz)

    23 For he sacrificed vnto the gods of Damascus, which plagued him, and he sayd, Because the gods of the Kings of Aram helped them, I wil sacrifice vnto them, and they will helpe me: yet they were his ruine, and of all Israel.

    24 And Ahaz gathered the vessels of ye house of God, & brake the vessels of the house of God, & shut vp the doores of the house of the Lord, & made him altars in euery corner of Ierusalem.

    25 And in euery citie of Iudah hee made hie places, to burne incense vnto other gods, & prouoked to anger the Lord God of his fathers.

    26 Concerning the rest of his actes, and all his wayes first and last, beholde, they are written in the booke of the Kings of Iudah, and Israel.

    27 And Ahaz slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the citie of Ierusalem, but brought him not vnto the sepulchres of the Kings of Israel: & Hezekiah his sonne reigned in his stead.

    20 And Hezekiah the King rose early, and gathered the princes of the citie, and went vp to the house of the Lord.

  • 7 But if thou say to me, We trust in the Lord our God. Is not that he, whose hie places & whose altars Hezekiah tooke downe, & said to Iudah & to Ierusalem, Ye shall worship before this altar?

  • 22 But if ye say vnto me, We trust in the Lord our God, is not that he whose hie places, and whose altars Hezekiah hath taken away, and hath sayd to Iudah and Ierusalem, Ye shall worship before this altar in Ierusalem?

  • 16 At the same season did Hezekiah pul off the plates of the doores of the Temple of the Lord, and the pillars (which the sayd Hezekiah King of Iudah had couered ouer) and gaue them to the King of Asshur.

  • 16 But when he was strong, his heart was lift vp to his destruction: for he trasgressed against the Lord his God, & went into the Temple of the Lord to burne incense vpon the altar of incense.

  • 18 And Iehoash King of Iudah tooke all the halowed thinges that Iehoshaphat, and Iehoram, and Ahaziah his fathers Kings of Iudah had dedicated, and that he himselfe had dedicated, and all the golde that was found in the treasures of the house of the Lord and in the Kings house, and sent it to Hazael King of Aram, and he departed from Ierusalem.

  • 37 In those dayes the Lord began to send against Iudah Rezin the king of Aram, & Pekah the sonne of Remaliah.

  • 3 And in the eight yeere of his reigne (when he was yet a childe) he began to seeke after the God of Dauid his father: and in the twelft yeere he began to purge Iudah, and Ierusalem from the hie places, and the groues, and the carued images, and molten images:

  • 29 In the dayes of Pekah king of Israel came Tiglath Pileser king of Asshur, & tooke Iion, and Abel, Beth-maachah, & Ianoah, and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Gilead, and Galilah, & all the land of Naphtali, and caryed them away to Asshur.

  • 3 Then sayde the Lorde vnto Isaiah, Goe foorth nowe to meete Ahaz (thou and Sheariashub thy sonne) at the ende of the conduit of the vpper poole, in the path of the fullers fielde,
