1So Iob proceeded and continued his parable, saying,
2Oh that I were as in times past, when God preserued me!
3When his light shined vpon mine head: and when by his light I walked thorowe the darkenesse,

6When I washed my pathes with butter, & when the rocke powred me out riuers of oyle:

23I was vpright also with him, & haue kept me from my wickednes.
13With him is wisedome and strength: he hath counsell and vnderstanding.
5For so shall not mine house be with God: for he hath made with me an euerlasting couenant, perfite in all pointes, and sure: therefore all mine health and whole desire is, that he will not make it growe so.
15If I say, I will iudge thus, beholde the generation of thy children: I haue trespassed.
12And as for me, thou vpholdest me in mine integritie, & doest set me before thy face for euer.
14What then shal I do when God standeth vp? & when he shal visit me, what shal I answere?
14For he will performe that, which is decreed of me, and many such things are with him.
15I was the eyes to the blinde, and I was the feete to the lame.

16Or why was I not hid, as an vntimely birth, either as infants, which haue not seene the light?

4Where wast thou when I layd the foundations of the earth? Declare, if thou hast vnderstanding,
2For whereto shoulde the strength of their handes haue serued mee, seeing age perished in them?
10But he knoweth my way, & trieth mee, and I shal come forth like the gold.
11My foote hath followed his steps: his way haue I kept, and haue not declined.
15My bones are not hid from thee, though I was made in a secret place, and facioned beneath in the earth.
16Thine eyes did see me, when I was without forme: for in thy booke were all things written, which in continuance were facioned, when there was none of them before.
