5 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:

18 ¶ Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying.

4 And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

8 My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother:
4 If thy children have sinned against him, and he have cast them away for their transgression;
7 ¶ Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice,
12 ¶ Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:
10 He that chastiseth the heathen, shall not he correct? he that teacheth man knowledge, [shall not he know]?
18 And if ye will not yet for all this hearken unto me, then I will punish you seven times more for your sins.
26 ¶ He that wasteth [his] father, [and] chaseth away [his] mother, [is] a son that causeth shame, and bringeth reproach.
17 For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.
21 Fathers, provoke not your children [to anger], lest they be discouraged.
7 For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:
8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;
11 And now whereas my father did lade you with a heavy yoke, I will add to your yoke: my father hath chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions.
5 ¶ [Which is] a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer:
6 ¶ Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:
11 As ye know how we exhorted and comforted and charged every one of you, as a father [doth] his children,
15 ¶ Foolishness [is] bound in the heart of a child; [but] the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.
17 ¶ And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with [him], that we may be also glorified together.
