8My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother:
24¶ He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.
1¶ Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding.
2But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father.
3Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world:
11If we have sown unto you spiritual things, [is it] a great thing if we shall reap your carnal things?
14I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men:
7Our fathers have sinned, [and are] not; and we have borne their iniquities.
9Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.
18¶ Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying.
1¶ Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
7Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
17¶ Correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest; yea, he shall give delight unto thy soul.
9And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him.
1¶ Rebuke not an elder, but intreat [him] as a father; [and] the younger men as brethren;
14As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:
2For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;
17¶ Behold, happy [is] the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty:
7Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of [their] conversation.
28Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:
1¶ Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.
1¶ Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
