1¶ Elihu spake moreover, and said,
3For thou saidst, What advantage will it be unto thee? [and], What profit shall I have, [if I be cleansed] from my sin?
8Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous?
9Hast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a voice like him?
5For Job hath said, I am righteous: and God hath taken away my judgment.

7If thou be righteous, what givest thou him? or what receiveth he of thine hand?
8Thy wickedness [may hurt] a man as thou [art]; and thy righteousness [may profit] the son of man.
17Shall mortal man be more just than God? shall a man be more pure than his maker?
35Yet thou sayest, Because I am innocent, surely his anger shall turn from me. Behold, I will plead with thee, because thou sayest, I have not sinned.
4For thou hast said, My doctrine [is] pure, and I am clean in thine eyes.
5If indeed ye will magnify [yourselves] against me, and plead against me my reproach:

7¶ And it was [so], that after the LORD had spoken these words unto Job, the LORD said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends: for ye have not spoken of me [the thing that is] right, as my servant Job [hath].
1¶ Furthermore Elihu answered and said,
2I will say unto God, Do not condemn me; shew me wherefore thou contendest with me.
3[Is it] good unto thee that thou shouldest oppress, that thou shouldest despise the work of thine hands, and shine upon the counsel of the wicked?
1¶ So these three men ceased to answer Job, because he [was] righteous in his own eyes.
2Then was kindled the wrath of Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite, of the kindred of Ram: against Job was his wrath kindled, because he justified himself rather than God.
3Doth God pervert judgment? or doth the Almighty pervert justice?
6[Is] not [this] thy fear, thy confidence, thy hope, and the uprightness of thy ways?
21These [things] hast thou done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether [such an one] as thyself: [but] I will reprove thee, and set [them] in order before thine eyes.
2I know [it is] so of a truth: but how should man be just with God?
1¶ Elihu also proceeded, and said,
2Suffer me a little, and I will shew thee that [I have] yet to speak on God's behalf.
3Surely I would speak to the Almighty, and I desire to reason with God.
33[Should it be] according to thy mind? he will recompense it, whether thou refuse, or whether thou choose; and not I: therefore speak what thou knowest.
32If thou hast any thing to say, answer me: speak, for I desire to justify thee.
7Will ye speak wickedly for God? and talk deceitfully for him?
6And that he would shew thee the secrets of wisdom, that [they are] double to that which is! Know therefore that God exacteth of thee [less] than thine iniquity [deserveth].
2Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct [him]? he that reproveth God, let him answer it.
25Therefore the LORD hath recompensed me according to my righteousness; according to my cleanness in his eye sight.
1¶ Righteous [art] thou, O LORD, when I plead with thee: yet let me talk with thee of [thy] judgments: Wherefore doth the way of the wicked prosper? [wherefore] are all they happy that deal very treacherously?
23For he will not lay upon man more [than right]; that he should enter into judgment with God.
17But thou hast fulfilled the judgment of the wicked: judgment and justice take hold [on thee].
25Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. Hear now, O house of Israel; Is not my way equal? are not your ways unequal?
8¶ Surely thou hast spoken in mine hearing, and I have heard the voice of [thy] words, [saying],
17¶ What [is] man, that thou shouldest magnify him? and that thou shouldest set thine heart upon him?
2For what portion of God [is there] from above? and [what] inheritance of the Almighty from on high?
