1¶ Righteous [art] thou, O LORD, when I plead with thee: yet let me talk with thee of [thy] judgments: Wherefore doth the way of the wicked prosper? [wherefore] are all they happy that deal very treacherously?
2Even to day [is] my complaint bitter: my stroke is heavier than my groaning.
27He looketh upon men, and [if any] say, I have sinned, and perverted [that which was] right, and it profited me not;
19¶ He is chastened also with pain upon his bed, and the multitude of his bones with strong [pain]:
3Wherefore are we counted as beasts, [and] reputed vile in your sight?
31Who shall declare his way to his face? and who shall repay him [what] he hath done?

28But ye should say, Why persecute we him, seeing the root of the matter is found in me?
17Shall mortal man be more just than God? shall a man be more pure than his maker?
1¶ A Psalm of David, to bring to remembrance. O LORD, rebuke me not in thy wrath: neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure.
14Therefore hath the LORD watched upon the evil, and brought it upon us: for the LORD our God [is] righteous in all his works which he doeth: for we obeyed not his voice.
2And enter not into judgment with thy servant: for in thy sight shall no man living be justified.
9Who can tell [if] God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?
22But his flesh upon him shall have pain, and his soul within him shall mourn.
12Men groan from out of the city, and the soul of the wounded crieth out: yet God layeth not folly [to them].
11When thou with rebukes dost correct man for iniquity, thou makest his beauty to consume away like a moth: surely every man [is] vanity. Selah.
12¶ [Is it] nothing to you, all ye that pass by? behold, and see if there be any sorrow like unto my sorrow, which is done unto me, wherewith the LORD hath afflicted [me] in the day of his fierce anger.
19Hast thou utterly rejected Judah? hath thy soul lothed Zion? why hast thou smitten us, and [there is] no healing for us? we looked for peace, and [there is] no good; and for the time of healing, and behold trouble!
23For he will not lay upon man more [than right]; that he should enter into judgment with God.
31¶ Surely it is meet to be said unto God, I have borne [chastisement], I will not offend [any more]:
13Wherefore doth the wicked contemn God? he hath said in his heart, Thou wilt not require [it].
29[If] I be wicked, why then labour I in vain?
3For thou saidst, What advantage will it be unto thee? [and], What profit shall I have, [if I be cleansed] from my sin?
1¶ To the chief Musician, Maschil, [A Psalm] of David, when Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul, and said unto him, David is come to the house of Ahimelech. Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? the goodness of God [endureth] continually.
9For he hath said, It profiteth a man nothing that he should delight himself with God.
11For the work of a man shall he render unto him, and cause every man to find according to [his] ways.
7¶ Wherefore do the wicked live, become old, yea, are mighty in power?
