1¶ To the chief Musician, [A Psalm] of David, when Nathan the prophet came unto him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba. Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.

16¶ For now thou numberest my steps: dost thou not watch over my sin?
2And enter not into judgment with thy servant: for in thy sight shall no man living be justified.
6If thou sinnest, what doest thou against him? or [if] thy transgressions be multiplied, what doest thou unto him?
11For thy name's sake, O LORD, pardon mine iniquity; for it [is] great.
13Verily I have cleansed my heart [in] vain, and washed my hands in innocency.
