1

To the chief Musician{H8764)}, A Psalm of David. Hear{H8798)} my voice, O God, in my prayer: preserve{H8799)} my life from fear of the enemy{H8802)}.

2

Hide{H8686)} me from the secret counsel of the wicked{H8688)}; from the insurrection of the workers{H8802)} of iniquity:

3

Who whet{H8804)} their tongue like a sword, and bend{H8804)} their bows to shoot their arrows, even bitter words:

4

That they may shoot{H8800)} in secret at the perfect: suddenly do they shoot{H8686)} at him, and fear{H8799)} not.

5

They encourage{H8762)} themselves in an evil matter: they commune{H8762)} of laying snares privily{H8800)}; they say{H8804)}, Who shall see{H8799)} them?

6

They search out{H8799)} iniquities; they accomplish{H8804)} a diligent{H8794)} search: both the inward thought of every one of them, and the heart, is deep.

7

But God shall shoot{H8686)} at them with an arrow; suddenly shall they be wounded.

8

So they shall make their own tongue to fall{H8686)} upon themselves: all that see{H8802)} them shall flee away{H8709)}.

9

And all men shall fear{H8799)}, and shall declare{H8686)} the work of God; for they shall wisely consider{H8689)} of his doing.

10

The righteous shall be glad{H8799)} in the LORD, and shall trust{H8804)} in him; and all the upright in heart shall glory{H8691)}.
