    1In the days of David, there was a famine for three years, year after year, and David sought the LORD. And the LORD answered, It is because of Saul and his bloody house, because he killed the Gibeonites.

    2So the king called the Gibeonites and spoke to them. (Now the Gibeonites were not of the children of Israel, but a remnant of the Amorites; and the Israelites had sworn to them. Yet Saul sought to kill them in his zeal for Israel and Judah.)

    13They took their bones and buried them under a tree at Jabesh, and fasted seven days.
