Verse 1

After these things, Jesus showed himself again to the disciples at the Sea of Tiberias; and this is how he showed himself.

Verse 2

Simon Peter, Thomas called Didymus, Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two other disciples were together.

There were together Simon Peter, and Thomas called Didymus, and Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two other of his disciples.

Verse 3

Simon Peter said to them, I am going fishing. They said to him, We will go with you. They went out and entered a boat immediately; but that night they caught nothing.

Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee. They went forth, and entered into a ship immediately; and that night they caught nothing.

Verse 4

When the morning came, Jesus stood on the shore, but the disciples did not know that it was Jesus.

But when the morning was now come, Jesus stood on the shore: but the disciples knew not that it was Jesus.

Verse 5

Then Jesus said to them, Children, do you have any fish? They answered him, No.

Then Jesus saith unto them, Children, have ye any meat? They answered him, No.

Verse 6

And he said to them, Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some. They cast it, and now they were unable to draw it in because of the multitude of fish.

And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes.

Verse 7

Therefore, that disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, It is the Lord. When Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his fisher's coat (for he was stripped) and jumped into the sea.

Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved saith unto Peter, It is the Lord. Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he girt his fisher's coat unto him, (for he was naked,) and did cast himself into the sea.

Verse 8

And the other disciples came in a little boat (for they were not far from land, about two hundred cubits) dragging the net with fish.

And the other disciples came in a little ship; (for they were not far from land, but as it were two hundred cubits,) dragging the net with fishes.

Verse 9

As soon as they came to land, they saw a fire of coals there, with fish laid on it and bread.

As soon then as they were come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid thereon, and bread.

Verse 10

Jesus said to them, Bring some of the fish you have just caught.

Jesus saith unto them, Bring of the fish which ye have now caught.

Verse 11

Simon Peter went up and drew the net to land, full of large fish, a hundred and fifty-three; and although there were so many, the net was not broken.

Simon Peter went up, and drew the net to land full of great fishes, an hundred and fifty and three: and for all there were so many, yet was not the net broken.

Verse 12

Jesus said to them, Come and dine. None of the disciples dared ask him, Who are you? knowing that it was the Lord.

Jesus saith unto them, Come and dine. And none of the disciples durst ask him, Who art thou? knowing that it was the Lord.

Verse 13

Jesus then came and took the bread and gave it to them, and fish likewise.

Jesus then cometh, and taketh bread, and giveth them, and fish likewise.

Verse 14

This was now the third time Jesus showed himself to his disciples after he had risen from the dead.

This is now the third time that Jesus shewed himself to his disciples, after that he was risen from the dead.

Verse 15

When they had dined, Jesus said to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, do you love me more than these? He said to him, Yes, Lord; you know that I love you. He said to him, Feed my lambs.

So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.

Verse 16

He said to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, do you love me? He said to him, Yes, Lord; you know that I love you. He said to him, Feed my sheep.

He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

Verse 17

He said to him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, do you love me? Peter was grieved because he said to him the third time, Do you love me? And he said to him, Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you. Jesus said to him, Feed my sheep.

He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

Verse 18

Truly, truly, I say to you, When you were young, you dressed yourself and walked where you wanted; but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will dress you and carry you where you do not want to go.

Verily, verily, I say unto thee, When thou wast young, thou girdedst thyself, and walkedst whither thou wouldest: but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry thee whither thou wouldest not.

Verse 19

He said this, signifying by what death he would glorify God. After he spoke this, he said to him, Follow me.

This spake he, signifying by what death he should glorify God. And when he had spoken this, he saith unto him, Follow me.

Verse 20

Then Peter, turning around, saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following, who also leaned on his breast at supper and said, Lord, who is the one that betrays you?

Then Peter, turning about, seeth the disciple whom Jesus loved following; which also leaned on his breast at supper, and said, Lord, which is he that betrayeth thee?

Verse 21

Peter saw him and said to Jesus, Lord, what about this man?

Peter seeing him saith to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do?

Verse 22

Jesus said to him, If I want him to remain until I come, what is that to you? You follow me.

Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me.

Verse 23

Then this saying went out among the brethren that this disciple would not die: yet Jesus did not say to him, He will not die; but, If I want him to remain until I come, what is that to you?

Then went this saying abroad among the brethren, that that disciple should not die: yet Jesus said not unto him, He shall not die; but, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee?

Verse 24

This is the disciple who testifies of these things and wrote these things; and we know that his testimony is true.

This is the disciple which testifieth of these things, and wrote these things: and we know that his testimony is true.

Verse 25

And there are also many other things that Jesus did, which if every one were written down, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written. Amen.
