Verse 1

And it happened, when Jabin king of Hazor heard these things, he sent to Jobab king of Madon, and to the king of Shimron, and to the king of Achshaph,

Verse 4

And they went out, they and all their armies with them, numerous people, as the sand that is on the seashore in multitude, with very many horses and chariots.

And when all these kings met together, they came and encamped together at the waters of Merom, to fight against Israel.

And the LORD said to Joshua, Do not be afraid because of them: for tomorrow about this time I will deliver them all slain before Israel: you shall hamstring their horses, and burn their chariots with fire.

And Joshua at that time turned back, and took Hazor, and struck its king with the sword: for Hazor previously was the head of all those kingdoms.

And they destroyed all the souls that were in it with the edge of the sword, utterly destroying them: there was none left breathing: and he burned Hazor with fire.

And all the cities of those kings, and all the kings of them, Joshua took, and struck them with the edge of the sword, and he utterly destroyed them, as Moses the servant of the LORD had commanded.

Verse 13

But as for the cities that stood on their mounds, Israel burned none of them, except Hazor only; that Joshua burned.

And all the spoil of these cities, and the livestock, the children of Israel took for a prey to themselves; but every man they struck with the edge of the sword, until they had destroyed them, leaving none that breathed.

As the LORD commanded Moses his servant, so Moses commanded Joshua, and so Joshua did; he left nothing undone of all that the LORD commanded Moses.
