21The people waited for Zacharias, and marveled that he lingered so long in the temple.
12When Zacharias saw him, he was troubled, and fear fell upon him.
13But the angel said to him, Do not be afraid, Zacharias, for your prayer is heard; and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John.
14You will have joy and gladness; and many will rejoice at his birth.
15For he will be great in the sight of the Lord, and will drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother's womb.
18Now the birth of Jesus Christ happened in this way: When his mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found to be with child of the Holy Spirit.
19Then Joseph her husband, being a just man and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away secretly.
20But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary your wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.
22Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying,
23Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
24Then Joseph, being raised from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord commanded him, and took his wife:
25And did not know her until she had brought forth her firstborn son; and he called his name JESUS.
31Behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a son, and shall call His name JESUS.
66All those who heard them kept them in their hearts, saying, What kind of child will this be? And the hand of the Lord was with him.
