And is there knowledge in the Most High? 12 Behold, these are the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase in riches. 13 Surely I have kept my heart pure in vain, and washed my hands in innocence. 14 For all day long I have been plagued, and chastened every morning.

  • Rev 13:3-9 : 3 And I saw one of his heads as if it were wounded to death, and his deadly wound was healed, and all the world marveled and followed the beast. 4 And they worshiped the dragon who gave power to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, "Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?" 5 And there was given to him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given to him to continue for forty-two months. 6 And he opened his mouth to blaspheme against God, to blaspheme His name, and His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven. 7 And it was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them, and power was given him over all tribes, tongues, and nations. 8 And all who dwell on the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. 9 If anyone has an ear, let him hear. 10 He who leads into captivity shall go into captivity; he who kills with the sword must be killed with the sword. • Job 21:7-9 : 7 Why do the wicked live, become old, yes, grow mighty in power? 8 Their descendants are established with them in their sight, and their offspring before their eyes. 9 Their houses are safe from fear, nor is the rod of God upon them. 10 Their bull breeds and does not fail; their cow calves and does not miscarry. 11 They send out their little ones like a flock, and their children dance. 12 They sing to the tambourine and harp, and rejoice to the sound of the flute. 13 They spend their days in prosperity, and in a moment go down to the grave. 14 Therefore they say to God, 'Depart from us, for we do not desire the knowledge of Your ways.' 15 Who is the Almighty that we should serve Him? And what profit do we have if we pray to Him? 16 Indeed, their prosperity is not in their hand; the counsel of the wicked is far from me. 17 How often is the lamp of the wicked put out! And how often does their destruction come upon them! God distributes sorrows in His anger. 18 They are like straw before the wind, and like chaff that the storm carries away. 19 God lays up iniquity for his children; He rewards him, and he shall know it. 20 His eyes shall see his destruction, and he shall drink of the wrath of the Almighty. 21 For what pleasure does he have in his house after him, when the number of his months is cut off? 22 Can anyone teach God knowledge, seeing He judges those who are high? 23 One dies in his full strength, being wholly at ease and quiet. 24 His sides are full of fat, and his bones are moistened with marrow. 25 Another dies in the bitterness of his soul, never having eaten with pleasure. 26 They lie down alike in the dust, and worms cover them. 27 Behold, I know your thoughts and the schemes you wrongfully imagine against me. 28 For you say, 'Where is the house of the prince? And where are the dwelling places of the wicked?' 29 Have you not asked those who travel the road? And do you not know their signs? 30 That the wicked is reserved for the day of destruction? They shall be brought forth to the day of wrath. 31 Who will declare his way to his face? And who will repay him for what he has done? 32 Yet he shall be brought to the grave, and shall remain in the tomb. 33 The clods of the valley shall be sweet to him; everyone shall follow him, as countless before him. 34 How then can you comfort me with empty words, seeing in your answers there lies falsehood?
