Verse 1

Have mercy on me, O God, according to your lovingkindness; according to the multitude of your tender mercies, blot out my transgressions.

Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.

Verse 2

Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.

Verse 3

For I acknowledge my transgressions, and my sin is always before me.

Verse 4

Against you, you only, have I sinned and done this evil in your sight, that you may be justified when you speak and be clear when you judge.

Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.

Behold, I was shaped in iniquity, and in sin my mother conceived me.

Behold, you desire truth in the inward parts, and in the hidden part you shall make me know wisdom.

Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.

Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

Make me hear joy and gladness, that the bones you have broken may rejoice.

Hide your face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities.

Verse 10

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.

Do not cast me away from your presence, and do not take your Holy Spirit from me.

Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.

Verse 12

Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with your free spirit.

Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.

Verse 13

Then I will teach transgressors your ways, and sinners shall be converted to you.

Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.

Verse 14

Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God, you God of my salvation, and my tongue shall sing aloud of your righteousness.

Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness.

Verse 15

O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth shall declare your praise.

O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise.

Verse 16

For you do not desire sacrifice, or I would give it; you do not delight in burnt offering.

For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering.

Verse 17

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

Verse 18

Do good in your good pleasure to Zion; build the walls of Jerusalem.

Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion: build thou the walls of Jerusalem.

Verse 19

Then you shall be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, with burnt offering and whole burnt offering; then they shall offer bulls on your altar.

Then shalt thou be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, with burnt offering and whole burnt offering: then shall they offer bullocks upon thine altar.
