7“Now send me a man who is skilled in working with gold, silver, bronze, and iron, as well as purple, crimson, and blue colored fabrics, and who knows how to engrave. He will work with my skilled craftsmen here in Jerusalem and Judah, whom my father David provided.
8Send me cedars, evergreens, and algum trees from Lebanon, for I know your servants are adept at cutting down trees in Lebanon. My servants will work with your servants
9to supply me with large quantities of timber, for I am building a great, magnificent temple.
10Look, I will pay your servants who cut the timber 20,000 cors of ground wheat, 20,000 cors of barley, 120,000 gallons of wine, and 120,000 gallons of olive oil.”
11King Huram of Tyre sent this letter to Solomon:“Because the LORD loves his people, he has made you their king.”
12Huram also said,“Worthy of praise is the LORD God of Israel, who made the sky and the earth! He has given King David a wise son who has discernment and insight and will build a temple for the LORD, as well as a royal palace for himself.
3Solomon sent a message to King Huram of Tyre:“Help me as you did my father David, when you sent him cedar logs for the construction of his palace.
1Solomon Gathers Building Materials for the Temple(5:15) King Hiram of Tyre sent messengers to Solomon when he heard that he had been anointed king in his father’s place.(Hiram had always been an ally of David.)
2Solomon then sent this message to Hiram:

14He was the son of a widow from the tribe of Naphtali, and his father was a craftsman in bronze from Tyre. He had the skill and knowledge to make all kinds of works of bronze. He reported to King Solomon and did all the work he was assigned.
1David’s Prestige Grows King Hiram of Tyre sent messengers to David, along with cedar logs, stonemasons, and carpenters to build a palace for him.
5So I have decided to build a temple to honor the LORD my God, as the LORD instructed my father David,‘Your son, whom I will put on your throne in your place, is the one who will build a temple to honor me.’
6So now order some cedars of Lebanon to be cut for me. My servants will work with your servants. I will pay your servants whatever you say is appropriate, for you know that we have no one among us who knows how to cut down trees like the Sidonians.”
7When Hiram heard Solomon’s message, he was very happy. He said,“The LORD is worthy of praise today because he has given David a wise son to rule over this great nation.”
8Hiram then sent this message to Solomon:“I received the message you sent to me. I will give you all the cedars and evergreens you need.
9My servants will bring the timber down from Lebanon to the sea. I will send it by sea in raft-like bundles to the place you designate. There I will separate the logs and you can carry them away. In exchange you will supply the food I need for my royal court.”
10So Hiram supplied the cedars and evergreens Solomon needed,
2“See, I have chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah,
3and I have filled him with the Spirit of God in skill, in understanding, in knowledge, and in all kinds of craftsmanship,
4to make artistic designs for work with gold, with silver, and with bronze,
5and with cutting and setting stone, and with cutting wood, to work in all kinds of craftsmanship.
6Moreover, I have also given him Oholiab son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, and I have given ability to all the specially skilled, that they may make everything I have commanded you:

14Now, look, I have made every effort to supply what is needed to build the LORD’s temple. I have stored up 100,000 talents of gold, 1,000,000 talents of silver, and so much bronze and iron it cannot be weighed, as well as wood and stones. Feel free to add more!
15You also have available many workers, including stonecutters, masons, carpenters, and an innumerable array of workers who are skilled
27Hiram sent his fleet and some of his sailors, who were well acquainted with the sea, to serve with Solomon’s men.
31He has filled him with the Spirit of God– with skill, with understanding, with knowledge, and in all kinds of work,
32to design artistic designs, to work in gold, in silver, and in bronze,
33and in cutting stones for their setting, and in cutting wood, to do work in every artistic craft.
34And he has put it in his heart to teach, he and Oholiab son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan.
35He has filled them with skill to do all kinds of work as craftsmen, as designers, as embroiderers in blue, purple, and scarlet yarn and in fine linen, and as weavers. They are craftsmen in all the work and artistic designers.
14Hiram had sent to the king 120 talents of gold.
11Huram Abi made the pots, shovels, and bowls. He finished all the work on God’s temple he had been assigned by King Solomon.
1So Bezalel and Oholiab and every skilled person in whom the LORD has put skill and ability to know how to do all the work for the service of the sanctuary are to do the work according to all that the LORD has commanded.”
2Moses summoned Bezalel and Oholiab and every skilled person in whom the LORD had put skill– everyone whose heart stirred him to volunteer to do the work,
1The People Contribute to the Project King David said to the entire assembly:“My son Solomon, the one whom God has chosen, is just an inexperienced young man, and the task is great, for this palace is not for man, but for the LORD God.
2So I have made every effort to provide what is needed for the temple of my God, including the gold, silver, bronze, iron, wood, as well as a large amount of onyx, settings of antimony and other stones, all kinds of precious stones, and alabaster.
18Solomon’s and Hiram’s construction workers, along with men from Byblos, did the chiseling and prepared the wood and stones for the building of the temple.
18Huram sent him ships and some of his sailors, men who were well acquainted with the sea. They sailed with Solomon’s men to Ophir, and took from there 450 talents of gold, which they brought back to King Solomon.
12I grant your request, and give you a wise and discerning mind superior to that of anyone who has preceded or will succeed you.
11They gave money to the craftsmen and builders to buy chiseled stone and wood for the braces and rafters of the buildings that the kings of Judah had allowed to fall into disrepair.
2Solomon rebuilt the cities that Huram had given him and settled Israelites there.
