Then the king elevated Daniel to high position and bestowed on him many marvelous gifts. He granted him authority over the entire province of Babylon and made him the main prefect over all the wise men of Babylon.

    21 He changes times and seasons, deposing some kings and establishing others. He gives wisdom to the wise; he imparts knowledge to those with understanding;

  • 11 Daniel then spoke to the warden whom the overseer of the court officials had appointed over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah:

  • 5 So the king assigned them a daily ration from his royal delicacies and from the wine he himself drank. They were to be trained for the next three years. At the end of that time they were to enter the king’s service.

  • 28 So this Daniel prospered during the reign of Darius and the reign of Cyrus the Persian.

  • 7 But the overseer of the court officials renamed them. He gave Daniel the name Belteshazzar, Hananiah he named Shadrach, Mishael he named Meshach, and Azariah he named Abednego.

  • 32 He spoke kindly to him and gave him a more prestigious position than the other kings who were with him in Babylon.

  • 23 Then the king was delighted and gave an order to haul Daniel up from the den. So Daniel was hauled up out of the den. He had no injury of any kind, because he had trusted in his God.

  • 28 However, there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries, and he has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar what will happen in the times to come. The dream and the visions you had while lying on your bed are as follows.

  • 26 I have issued an edict that throughout all the dominion of my kingdom people are to revere and fear the God of Daniel.“For he is the living God; he endures forever. His kingdom will not be destroyed; his authority is forever.

  • 28 He spoke kindly to him and gave him a more prestigious position than the other kings who were with him in Babylon.

  • 16 So the king gave the order, and Daniel was brought and thrown into a den of lions. The king consoled Daniel by saying,“Your God whom you continually serve will rescue you!”
