35When the Israelites would see the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses’ face shone, Moses would put the veil on his face again, until he went in to speak with the LORD.
16On the third day in the morning there was thunder and lightning and a dense cloud on the mountain, and the sound of a very loud horn; all the people who were in the camp trembled.
17Moses brought the people out of the camp to meet God, and they took their place at the foot of the mountain.
30Then Moses returned to the camp along with the elders of Israel.
1The Lord Ratifies the Covenant But to Moses the LORD said,“Come up to the LORD, you and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel, and worship from a distance.
2Moses alone may come near the LORD, but the others must not come near, nor may the people go up with him.”
21The people kept their distance, but Moses drew near the thick darkness where God was.
14Then Moses went down from the mountain to the people and sanctified the people, and they washed their clothes.
8And when Moses went out to the tent, all the people would get up and stand at the entrance to their tents and watch Moses until he entered the tent.
9And whenever Moses entered the tent, the pillar of cloud would descend and stand at the entrance of the tent, and the LORD would speak with Moses.
4and Moses wrote down all the words of the LORD. Early in the morning he built an altar at the foot of the mountain and arranged twelve standing stones– according to the twelve tribes of Israel.
30“After forty years had passed, an angel appeared to him in the desert of Mount Sinai, in the flame of a burning bush.
31When Moses saw it, he was amazed at the sight, and when he approached to investigate, there came the voice of the Lord,
10As for me, I stayed at the mountain as I did the first time, forty days and nights. The LORD listened to me that time as well and decided not to destroy you.
22So Moses extended his hand toward heaven, and there was absolute darkness throughout the land of Egypt for three days.
44The LORD spoke to Moses:
1Now Moses was shepherding the flock of his father-in-law Jethro, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the far side of the desert and came to the mountain of God, to Horeb.
9The LORD said to Moses,“I am going to come to you in a dense cloud, so that the people may hear when I speak with you and so that they will always believe in you.” And Moses told the words of the people to the LORD.
11You approached and stood at the foot of the mountain, a mountain ablaze to the sky above it and yet dark with a thick cloud.
4So Moses cut out two tablets of stone like the first; early in the morning he went up to Mount Sinai, just as the LORD had commanded him, and he took in his hand the two tablets of stone.
8The Israelites mourned for Moses in the rift valley plains of Moab for thirty days; then the days of mourning for Moses ended.
8So he got up and ate and drank. That meal gave him the strength to travel forty days and forty nights until he reached Horeb, the mountain of God.
