11Then the LORD’s angel said to her,“You are now pregnant and are about to give birth to a son. You are to name him Ishmael, for the LORD has heard your painful groans.
7nor are all the children Abraham’s true descendants; rather“through Isaac will your descendants be counted.”
18After all, Abraham will surely become a great and powerful nation, and all the nations on the earth may receive blessing through him.
5The LORD took him outside and said,“Gaze into the sky and count the stars– if you are able to count them!” Then he said to him,“So will your descendants be.”
12The land I gave to Abraham and Isaac I will give to you. To your descendants I will also give this land.”
36My master’s wife Sarah bore a son to him when she was old, and my master has given him everything he owns.
