7They answered him,“Why does my lord say such things? Far be it from your servants to do such a thing!
16Judah replied,“What can we say to my lord? What can we speak? How can we clear ourselves? God has exposed the sin of your servants! We are now my lord’s slaves, we and the one in whose possession the cup was found.”
17But Joseph said,“Far be it from me to do this! The man in whose hand the cup was found will become my slave, but the rest of you may go back to your father in peace.”
18Then Judah approached him and said,“My lord, please allow your servant to speak a word with you. Please do not get angry with your servant, for you are just like Pharaoh.
14So Judah and his brothers came back to Joseph’s house. He was still there, and they threw themselves to the ground before him.
17‘Tell Joseph this: Please forgive the sin of your brothers and the wrong they did when they treated you so badly.’ Now please forgive the sin of the servants of the God of your father.” When this message was reported to him, Joseph wept.
18Then his brothers also came and threw themselves down before him; they said,“Here we are; we are your slaves.”
19But Joseph answered them,“Don’t be afraid. Am I in the place of God?
39So Pharaoh said to Joseph,“Because God has enabled you to know all this, there is no one as wise and discerning as you are!
17The man did just as Joseph said; he brought the men into Joseph’s house.
15When Joseph’s brothers saw that their father was dead, they said,“What if Joseph bears a grudge and wants to repay us in full for all the harm we did to him?”

1The Reconciliation of the Brothers Joseph was no longer able to control himself before all his attendants, so he cried out,“Make everyone go out from my presence!” No one remained with Joseph when he made himself known to his brothers.
17The man said,“They left this area, for I heard them say,‘Let’s go to Dothan.’” So Joseph went after his brothers and found them at Dothan.
17Pharaoh said to Joseph,“Say to your brothers,‘Do this: Load your animals and go to the land of Canaan!
7So he asked Pharaoh’s officials, who were with him in custody in his master’s house,“Why do you look so sad today?”
