    17The men said to her,“We are not bound by this oath you made us swear unless the following conditions are met:

    18When we invade the land, tie this red rope in the window through which you let us down, and gather together in your house your father, mother, brothers, and all who live in your father’s house.

    19Anyone who leaves your house will be responsible for his own death– we are innocent in that case! But if anyone with you in the house is harmed, we will be responsible.

  • 16Judah replied,“What can we say to my lord? What can we speak? How can we clear ourselves? God has exposed the sin of your servants! We are now my lord’s slaves, we and the one in whose possession the cup was found.”

  • 15We will give you our consent on this one condition: You must become like us by circumcising all your males.

  • 25The officials may hear that I have talked with you. They may come to you and say,‘Tell us what you said to the king and what the king said to you. Do not hide anything from us. If you do, we will kill you.’

  • 22Only on this one condition will these men consent to live with us and become one people: They demand that every male among us be circumcised just as they are circumcised.

  • 2There is only cursing, lying, murder, stealing, and adultery. They resort to violence and bloodshed.

  • 12They said to him,“We have come down to take you prisoner so we can hand you over to the Philistines.” Samson said to them,“Promise me you will not kill me.”

  • 23“But if you do not do this, then look, you will have sinned against the LORD. And know that your sin will find you out.
