17Therefore, dear friends, since you have been forewarned, be on your guard that you do not get led astray by the error of these unprincipled men and fall from your firm grasp on the truth.
18But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the honor both now and on that eternal day.
3Condemnation of the False Teachers Dear friends, although I have been eager to write to you about our common salvation, I now feel compelled instead to write to encourage you to contend earnestly for the faith that was once for all entrusted to the saints.
4For certain men have secretly slipped in among you– men who long ago were marked out for the condemnation I am about to describe– ungodly men who have turned the grace of our God into a license for evil and who deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.
5Now I desire to remind you(even though you have been fully informed of these facts once for all) that Jesus, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, later destroyed those who did not believe.
11For thus an entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, will be richly provided for you.
12Salvation Based on the Word of God Therefore, I intend to remind you constantly of these things even though you know them and are well established in the truth that you now have.
13Indeed, as long as I am in this tabernacle, I consider it right to stir you up by way of a reminder,
16Do not be led astray, my dear brothers and sisters.
3because we recall in the presence of our God and Father your work of faith and labor of love and endurance of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.
4We know, brothers and sisters loved by God, that he has chosen you,
7Remember your leaders, who spoke God’s message to you; reflect on the outcome of their lives and imitate their faith.
15Indeed, I will also make every effort that, after my departure, you have a testimony of these things.
16For we did not follow cleverly concocted fables when we made known to you the power and return of our Lord Jesus Christ; no, we were eyewitnesses of his grandeur.
9But in your case, dear friends, even though we speak like this, we are convinced of better things relating to salvation.
17Be imitators of me, brothers and sisters, and watch carefully those who are living this way, just as you have us as an example.

6By pointing out such things to the brothers and sisters, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, having nourished yourself on the words of the faith and of the good teaching that you have followed.
14Exhortation to the Faithful Therefore, dear friends, since you are waiting for these things, strive to be found at peace, without spot or blemish, when you come into his presence.
15And regard the patience of our Lord as salvation, just as also our dear brother Paul wrote to you, according to the wisdom given to him,

15Therefore, brothers and sisters, stand firm and hold on to the traditions that we taught you, whether by speech or by letter.

4So they are astonished when you do not rush with them into the same flood of wickedness, and they vilify you.
8Watch out, so that you do not lose the things we have worked for, but receive a full reward.

17Now I urge you, brothers and sisters, to watch out for those who create dissensions and obstacles contrary to the teaching that you learned. Avoid them!
19Have you been thinking all this time that we have been defending ourselves to you? We are speaking in Christ before God, and everything we do, dear friends, is to build you up.
