13Jesus Walks the Road to Emmaus Now that very day two of them were on their way to a village called Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem.

20Then he said to them,“But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered,“The Christ of God.”
11And the crowds were saying,“This is the prophet Jesus, from Nazareth in Galilee.”
37They told him,“Jesus the Nazarene is passing by.”

37As he approached the road leading down from the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of his disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works they had seen:

52So they worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy,
40When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his feet.
2and said to him,“Tell us: By what authority are you doing these things? Or who is it who gave you this authority?”
7So they asked him,“Teacher, when will these things happen? And what will be the sign that these things are about to take place?”
34Jesus replied,“Are you saying this on your own initiative, or have others told you about me?”
